Hey bees! I have a few questions that I’m hoping some of you may be able to answer. I got married back in December, we weren’t trying to conceive but we weren’t exactly trying not to. I had my cycle December 31st-Jan 3 and ovulated at my peak on the 15th.
My period was due the 28th. I got all the same symptoms. I craved chocolate, had really intense cramps and even had the spotting right before like normal. Then, I woke up the next morning and all of my period symptoms had stopped. I waited until the 4th and when my period didn’t show up I took a pregnancy test. It was positive, and so were the other 3 I took.
Is it normal to have the symptoms of your cycle and be pregnant? I’ve never gone through this before so I’m looking for some help.

I’m not sure, as I have never been pregnant, so apologize for being useless, BUT wanted to say congratulations!!!!!!! 🙂

Congrats!! That’s very normal – pregnancy symptoms are very similar to PMS symptoms.

@firsttimemom: Yes it’s normal. Alot of “symptoms” I had when I PMS I felt in a stronger intensity my entire pregnancy. Even the spotting is completely normal, and you may have it a time or two during your pregnancy. YOu can spot when you conceive and throughout the pregnancy due to rough intercourse or due to your uterus stretching.

Same here. Was CONVINCED I was starting my cycle, and whaddya know, a positive test! I still get cramps, that are exactly like period cramps. Maybe around 5-10 minutes every day, some days more than others. So don’t worry about that either

Yes, very normal! Congratulations!

Really? Why does your body go through the cramps while you’re pregnant? Is it the uterus trying to expand or something?

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I think why you cramp is because the placenta is attaching to the wall of the uterus.
My friend went through a similar situation. She was on BC and used a condom and BAM! Prego. She had bad cramping and other signs too. She took 3 tests, all were positive.
It took her a long, long time to get used to the idea because they were not trying at all. But now she’s excited. 🙂

Awesome!! Congrats to you! If I remember correctly, everything you are feeling is normal. With my son, I spotted three months in a row! Even after I found out ( that I was pregnant), I still found it hard to believe with the spotting. In any case, I have a very healthy little boy 🙂

Yes, I’m pretty sure intense cramps around that time are the result of implantation. Congratulations, firsttimemom!!

Congrats! Like a PP said, it’s your uterus stretching out from the size of a fist, only to get bigger. 🙂

Mine were all the same, EXCEPT my breasts got bigger and hurt more than usual, and I didn’t get my monthly pre-menstrual migraine. Completely normal. 🙂 Congratulations! I hope you don’t get the morning (all day) sickness that I am (hopefully) just now getting over!
