Aw, that lady should’ve let you try on Divina!  When I went dress shopping we pulled all sorts of dresses (even sizes we both knew wouldn’t fit) and the lady said not to worry about it if something rips.  I am a street 10/12 but was a 14 when I went to try on dresses (and yes, some of the dresses did tear because she really wanted me to get an idea of how the dress would look on me).  Priscilla is my dress (the sample was a 10 and my hot pink underwear was totally showing on the back, lol)!  I really like SaBelle on you though!

I like last one. It’ll look great with the straps fitted and you look beautiful in it. The detail on the bodice is divine!

Loving the last one on you – it’s really flattering and I love the detail on it. Don’t be discouraged, I hated it the first time too. You just need to find the right shop

@jennyinstereo:  Yeah, she really cinched in that bodice on me and my boobies were struggling so the top looked a little awkward.  I didn’t try on Sabelle but I’m worried that Priscilla is going to be heavy (my wedding is not until next spring).  I tried it on a second time with a 4-tier petticoat underneath and omg, I was sweating (and it was heavy)!  I will need some poof in the skirt so hopefully a 2-tier will give it enough of that and not have me trudging along all day, lol.

I can’t wait for you to try on Juliette~ it’s so beautiful!  If it’s the one I’m remembering, I tried it on and was tempted… ๐Ÿ™‚  I do remember thinking, this is a lot of dress, but in a “holy crap, I feel amazing!” way.  Don’t worry too much about the weight loss. Try to remind yourself that the dress fitted to you will make a world of difference (so stupid that there isn’t a range of samples for everyone.)  Just focus on finding the right cut and shape for your figure and if you lose weight it will still look amazing.  Dropped waist that cut across my hips wasn’t good on me before or after my weight loss, but a natural waist or ruching was always flattering (it just takes trial and error and trying different styles)  I like Sabelle and the Essence on you.  Definitely keep the sweetheart neckline, whatever you choose.  Can’t you take someone along with you to the trunk show?  I went by myself and it really helps to have another opinion.

eta  She totally should have let you try on Divina!  Grrrr….

I am a plus sized woman too, so I know how you feel about walking into a store and all you find are single digit dresses when you are clearly a double digit type of lady. I would not go back to that store, the sales lady sounds like she is used to working with a different body types. It’s not just skinny women who get engaged!!

I lost 25lbs after I got engaged, I used http://www.sparkpeople.com  and just stuck to the meal plans and started tracking my exercise each day. If you want you can download the app. inbox me and I will send you the link to my profile on sparkpeople and we can become weightloss accountability friends. Its hard to cheat on your eating when you have a buddy nagging you each day ๐Ÿ™‚

My favorite dress is the first one. They all look nice, I just like the vintage look on #1

Almost the same thing happened to me – This past July I went to try on wedding dresses mostly for fun, but also to get an idea of what kinds of dresses I like. I thought I looked okay; I knew I was a size 16/18 but I never really felt huge. Until I saw the pictures my sister took of me. It was that (and a lot of other things that had happened, a graduation gown was way too tight, looking huge in friend’s pictures, etc) that was the catalyst for me losing weight. I’m down almost 40 pounds, and I hope to lose another 30-40 or so to reach my goal weight. You can do it!!

I just ordered SaBelle! It’s a gorgeous dress but I really like the first one on you! Your consultant sounds very rude, so sorry that you had to deal with that. Hopefully next weekend will be much better when you get to try your dream dress ๐Ÿ™‚

You’re really pretty and don’t look fat at all. I actually really like the SaBelle on you (which I usually don’t like), although it might look better with some sort of off-the-shoulder straps.

Remember that whatever dress you choose needs to look good in pictures as well as in person, as you’ll be looking at pictures of it for the rest of your life!
