Hello. This is going to be my first time trying OPKs to nail down when I actually ovulate. When do I start testing? I’m currently CD3.
I would start around CD10? Depends on your cycle, if you are fairly regular I would start testing twice daily from CD10 until you get a positive. 🙂 I always tested with second urine of the day and then again in the aftenroon (say 2-3pm) so I would be sure to catch a surge. If the lines were looking really close, I’d test for a 3rd time to see if I got a positive. 🙂 Good luck!
my cycles had been anywhere from 22 to 28 days, I started testing at CD6 and got positive OPK’s on CD 15 and CD 16….
It was my first month using OPK’s so althoughI’m sure I started way too early, I didn’nt want to miss the surge and had no idea when I was ovulating so I fugred at least the first monht using them I would just expand my window just in case, and then narrow it the next month based on when I determined my surge was.
I got my BFP on CD 28 the first month using OPK’s, so I never did get to use them again.
Thanks everyone. I ordered some from amazon last night and they should be here in time. My cycles are pretty normal… between 28 and 31 days, although the long one was due to a chemical pregnancy. Hoping this gives me a little more control over things this month. At the very least, it should put my mind at ease and give me a better idea of whats going on.
This is useful. i’m going to be using OPKs for my first time this month. Were not TTC till June so i want to track properly and make sure i know how my body is working before then.
