Are you going to be able to use those checks with a name you don’t have already?  I loved changing my name.  I really go by the Shakespeare philosophy of what’s in a name.

I ran out of checks two months before the wedding and it was a nightmare. We planned to join our finances afterward so it didn’t make sense for me to pay $30 to get checks printed when I’d only be using about 5 of them. I tried to pay rent using his checks and the apartment refused to accept them because he wasn’t the tenant. For the next three months I had to get cashier’s checks to pay the darn rent, because I refused to pay a $19.95 charge to pay rent online. SO glad I’m out of that apartment!

Oh yes, then we got a joint account and they sent checks with my middle name spelled wrong. I don’t even know why we bother with checks. As husband says, “In 10 years we’ll be paying with our brains!”

Sorry this turned into a check rant. I just got my name changed at work and it still trips me up to see my new name on my badge. I still feel a little nervous, but too late! haha.

I was totally just looking at the escort cards (including one with my new name!) and I definitely did a double take and was like, “who’s that?” for a second! yeah…it’s a weird feeling…
