Anyone else suffer from this? I’m 6 weeks, and for the last two days have been suffering miserably. I work with special needs elementary school students, so there is no way I can go to work and be rushing off to the bathroom all the time. It needs to end soon!

It seems to be uncommon, but I had it too. I DO however, have IBS, so that’s always been an issue. Unfortunately, I’m 20 weeks now, and it still comes and goes now and again.
Take it easy! If it seems to be getting worse, or doesnt get better by tomorrow, I’d call your doc. Mine never lasted more than a day at a time.

I had it–and I was either 6 or 7 weeks. It lasted for four days, and was completely miserable. I couldn’t eat even a bite of food, and it was like…every hour if I wasn’t eating, every 10-15 minutes if I was.
It went away after that fourth day, and never came back. I’m 18w now.

Hormones can stop things up and let them flow! But if it’s truly diarrhea (practically liquid) you’ll probably want to call to get fluid intake instructions. And definitely call if it doesn’t go away right away! I had very loose bowel movements, but not true diarrhea.

I remember this well! It was horrible. I feel for you! Everytime I ate something I was running to the bathroom before I even finished my meal. It gets better but it sucks when you’re going through it!

I have had it on and off for the whole pregnancy. Mostly I am constipated but I HAVE had the opposite problem too. Definitely a few days at around weeks 5 and 7. Then around 12 weeks and also 2 weeks ago. So yeah. Oh and (TMI) it was totally liquid. UGH.

Um, like every day. I haven’t been constipated at all. I wake up every morning having to go…lol

I had this a few times first thing in the morning, accompanied by terrible intestinal cramps. It stopped when the morning sickness started.

I had it a few times during my first trimester. Being constipated hasn’t been an issue for me (knock on wood), which was a blessing and a curse since diarrhea reared its ugly head several times.

Yup I had it!! It was no fun. Try to make sure that you stay hydrated!

It is seeming better this afternoon, at least more “controllable”. I’ve read some people say that your prenatal vitamin can cause diarrhea. Mine does have the laxative ingredient polyethylene glycol, but I had been taking this vitamin prior to becoming pregnant and never had any problems.
Any thoughts on whether I should go get a different kind? Could changing hormones + the laxative ingredient be the key, or is it just a coincidence?
