I really don’t think California Adventure is worth it, it’s fun but if you don’t want to shell out the cash I don’t think you’re missing much (unless you want to drink, CA Adventure and Club 33 are the only places that serve alcohol in Disneyland).
The chowder bowl at Royal Street Vernanda is AMAZING. I also loved the beignets at this restaurant right across from Blue Bayou.
Definitely get fastpasses to all the good rides that get crazy long lines (splash mountain, space mountain, thunder mountain, indiana jones). Rides like pirates of the carribean are usually quick lines so I wouldn’t bother. If you’re tired and want to sit down definitely go on the jungle cruise, you get to sit and it’s pretty cool. I love the storybook ride as well, it’s definitely one of my favorites!
Great now I want to go to disneyland lol

We have season passes and “hop” between parks allllll day long. We did the same at WDW. Can’t imagine not. But that’s us.

misslioness : We personally use the park hopper passes. It just gives us the flexibility to go where we want at anytime. We also love love love California Adventure. So I think it’s personal preference!

Also just to warn you: it’s always packed now. There’s no such thing as a slow time, everything is packed. The weather always feels 5 degrees hotter walking around. Water and sunblock are you best friends. Most it down/dine in restaurants require a reservation , blue bayou is worth it.

If you want to do the cars ride, you need to get a fast pass FIRST thing when the park opens, they go quick. Or do single rider like another bee said; that actually goes very quickly. Do Soarin Over the World – it just opened up a few months ago and it was really cool! You’ll be there during the week so it hopefully won’t be as crowded – it’s been really bad recently in terms of crowds, it makes it not as fun 🙁
Also, Star Tours and Space Mountain are great (but again, Fast Passes are a must!)
If it’s really crowded, just checking out the level of detail in everything in the parks is pretty cool – Fiance and I are local and passholders, so sometimes we will only hit one ride and just meander around looking at everything.

San Diego is so much fun! Definitely go to the zoo. Coronado is beautiful. If you have an enhanced license or passport, take the trolly to border and check out Tijuana. Ocean Beach is a really cool area with funky shops, and of couse, the beach. The Wharf district, Gaslight district, Hillcrest (was the super gay area when I lived in San Diego forever and a day ago).
Have a great trip!!
