Just wondering, did anyone here 30 (or over) conceive on their first try?
I keep hearing all these things about how your chances of conceiving plummet once you turn 35, but that 30 is still the beginning of a major decline. I don’t plan on trying until I am 30 (currently 28) but would like to know how long realistically it could take, assuming I am in good health.

I am 33, and we were successful on our second try. I knew we weren’t going to get lucky the first cycle because my DH kind of got ‘stage fright’ and we missed some *ahem* important dates. By the second cycle, we had both become more comfortable with everything, and BOOM… I’m 24 weeks pregnant 🙂
Even though technically we were on our second cycle, I kind of consider it as our first cycle, because the first time around we really didn’t give it much of a chance. The first time we actually, properly tried, it worked.
I think you’ll be fine!

I’m 30 and we were succssesful on our first try. It was our second month in theory, but I don’t count it because we didn’t hit ovulation on time. The next month I checked my ovulation day and got my BFP. I must add that I’m a thyroid patient and I was told it would take a long while to get pregnant… 🙂 Don’t worry, you’ll be fine.

I got pregnant the month of my 31st birthday. It was our second month of NTNP so I consider that pretty sucessful. We had planned to start trying officially the following month. I am now 6 months into a healthy pregnancy.

I’m only 8 months past my 30th brithday so I dunno if I’m still too young for your question, but I just got knocked up on the first try. 🙂 I hope it sticks!
I’ve heard there’s really not much difference in fertility between lates twenties and early thirties.

My sister is 33 and got her BFP after 1 try…

The difference between 28 and 30 should be fairly small. The difference between 25 and 35 may be significant, but that doesn’t mean you should TTC before you are ready. There are plenty of success stories- my mom got pregnant with her third at 41 with no problems (I was her first at 33).

I was 29 but got pregnant the first time. There isn’t a real difference between 28 and 30…
Assuming you don’t already have issues I don’t see why you’d have a problem until closer to 40.

I was 31 when I got pregnant on the first or second cycle, depending on how you look at it.
I charted for 2 cycles before getting my BFP. The first cycle I purposely avoided BDing at the right time because I was having some dental work done and was paranoid about how that could impact a pregnancy (based on what I know now, like when you start sharing a blood supply, it really would’ve been fine), so you could say I did get pregnant the first month we really tried.
Wait until 30 if that’s what you want to do. No need to rush. You shouldn’t have a drastic change in fertility between now and then.

I’m 32 and we got pregnant on our third cycle. Not the first, but pretty damn fast.

I’m 31 and I got pregnant the first cycle we *really* tried. We had been sort of halfheartedly trying for a couple of months prior but we had terrible timing and kept completely missing the fertile window so I don’t think it counts. In December we got serious about it and literally BD’d every day from when I first noticed EWCM (which was really early that cycle) to the day after ovulation. It ended up being 7 days straight and it was exhausting, lol, but here I am 10 weeks pregnant! You’ll be totally fine waiting! I remember reading that even women in their peak fertile years take about 3 months or so to get pregnant so I wouldn’t worry at all if it doesn’t happen on the first try.
