Congratulations! I’m assuming the heartbeat and everything was ok??

And yeah, someone probably should have warned you that the first one is transvaginal. They aren’t so bad. I’ve had several b/c of our previous issues. If you go for your sequential screening at 12 weeks, it will be a regular ultrasound.

There are a lot of things with pregnancy that no one tells you about. If you have any questions about the icky stuff…just ask :o)

Congrats!! My first one was last week but my doctor warned me that at ANY appointment, be ready for someone to go up your hoo-ha, LOL! My due date got pushed a week as well, I’m now March 8th, what’s yours?

It’s so neat to see the baby isn’t it? Were you able to see the heartbeat?

Yay!!  The first u/s is really exciting.  And yeah, ALL of my ultrasounds have included a transvaginal part…even my anatomy scan today.

Congrats!

Yep – transvaginal ultrasounds are definietly interesting. I knew going into my first that it would be one (I was 7 weeks and a few days), so I forwarned Darling Husband. He actually freaked out more about than I did, and almost didn’t go. He quickly got over it once we got to see the baby.

Our ultrasound technician did her looking and measurements (DH stood to look by her), then turned the monitor towards me and showed us and explained things. I think our heartbeat was around 150, but I’m not sure.

The second was a quick abdominal which was done last week (11 weeks) as they couldn’t find the HB with the doppler and she just wanted to have a quick peek. It was literally only 1-2 minutes just to see the heart beat and we were done. I’m super excited for my NT scan tomorrow – I cannot wait to spend more time looking. Darling Husband won’t be there though do to work (he missed the one last week too, but it was unexpected). I really wish he could as even last weeks looked like a mini person verse a jelly bean.

Hopefully your next one is longer πŸ™‚ – it’s so neat to see everything.

@PrncssDva:  Our heartbeat was 164! Baby wasn’t moving much, although she was kind going quickly through the measurements, etc like yours. That’s so cool that you guys videotaped it! Our lady was kind of mean and she didn’t even want to let Darling Husband in πŸ™  I’m hoping our second U/S will be more fun πŸ˜‰  I didn’t cry either, I was really surprised!!! Jeez I cry over everything these days, but I didn’t cry over the U/S?! LOL!

@PrncssDva:  The first two were really early, so they had to do trans-vaginal to get pictures.  At the anatomy scan, the baby was laying funny and wouldn’t roll over, so they had to use the trans-vaginal in order to see where the placenta was in relation to the cervix.  It was kinda cool today because I was apparently having Braxton Hicks contractions and even though I couldn’t feel them, you could see them on the screen.

Um.. I had NO idea that they do these trans vaginal! I’ve had one before for totally unrelated issues, but I would have been in for a big surprise. Huh.
