So what if you do? All those people are in the class for the same reasons as you, and every single one of them had a “first time”. Just try to have fun with it! You’ll be fine.Cool

No!  The best thing about Zumba is that if you really let go… and I mean REALLY let go of your inhibitions and try your best to follow the instructor, it’s more like dancing than anything.  Even if you’re not doing it 100% right, you’re still following along.

Zumba rocks!

I totally agree with Miss Longcoat!  You have to be willing to just go for it and not worry that you think you look stupid.  Plus hiding out in the back of the class helps if you are very self-conscious.  I probably spent 5 or 6 sessions in the back of the room before I felt confident enough to move to the middle (or front!) of the room.

And a little tip that helped me a lot – when you go to a class, try to pick out the experienced Zumba dancers in the crowd.  They’re usually easy to spot because they tend to dance “bigger” than everybody else, if that makes sense.  Sometimes they’ll wear the official Zumba gear, which makes it even easier to find them.  So anyway, find one or two and watch them during class, or even better, stand by or behind them.  It’s a great way to learn the moves from the perspective of a student, rather than watching the instructor, who is often mirroring you.  And sometimes it can be hard to see the instructor if the class is large, so having other people to watch that you know are doing it right is good.

I tried it the other day and being the non-graceful person that I am, I still had fun and got a pretty good work out. I found the moves with more than a couple steps I really didn’t get, but I went again this week and it is getting easier. It is fun and changed up my routine I had going.

i try it yesterday for the first time !! was so much fun and boy oh boy it is a huge way to burn calories  i loved it !!

I hate it.

It’s almost dancing without actually dancing! When someone told me that becasue I loved to dance, and that I regularly do fitness classes I would just love a combination. God, she couldn’t have been further from the truth.

Dancing should be dancing, high heels, awesome out fit, and killer moves.

Fitness should be sweaty, nasty, grunting, and fill-in-the-blank with another unattractive trait.

Blah… just my opinion though.
