My Fiance has always wanted a fun entrance of his own – which is totally understandable. Why should I be the only one with a grand entrance!
Well, the morning of our wedding is also the morning of our year end baseball tournament (we play together in a beer league). As most of the team will be at our wedding, they scheduled is so they only have one game that day at 9 AM. There’s no way I’d make it, but Fiance and his groomsmen will go play (in a city about an hour away from the venue)
His idea is that he and his groomsmen will film a short video starting at the baseball field with the game running late. His groomsmen will say something like “I knew we shouldn’t have tried to play the whole game!”, and then it will film them rushing to get ready, and rushing to the church. It’ll end with them coming to the front doors of the church, and that’s when him and his groomsmen will actually enter the church.
Now I think this is a great idea! It’s funny and totally something my Fiance would do. I’m coming to you Bees though to make sure no one would be offended by this. How would you feel if you saw this at a wedding?

I love weddings that are not cookie cutter! Check with your church first to make sure it is ok with them, but i love it!

I would definitely not be offended, but I’m also not super-orthodox when it comes to proper church ceremony behavior.
I would just check with the church to make sure it is okay with the-powers-that-be. If so, go for it! I’m sure all the guests that know you both will find it cute and totally you (or him, rather).

As one of the “No” voters I wouldn’t be offeneded or anything I would just feel like it is pretty silly. If your wedding was very casual then it might be more fitting. IMO the ceremony is the more serious part of the day. Maybe you could do something similar for the reception? Plus editing and filming a short video that looks and sounds good might be hard to do in one day.

@Captain013: Oh they would film it about a week or two before, but I see where you are coming from!

I saw something like that on an awards show or something, I know I have seen it before. I think that it would be a riot at a wedding, especially if it shows off the personality of the couple.

I love the idea…I think anything that makes a ceremony start with people smiling is a great idea 🙂
