Let them figure it out? They are presumably adults, right?

Not your problem.  They are adults, they will need to work that out.

Could they look into a B&B in your area maybe? Is there another family member that might split the room if they upgrade or something? They don’t really get to be picky at this point. I would try not to worry about it, they’re grown ass adults after all!

You should have just booked it when you had the hotel on the line. You can always cancel a reservation if it isn’t needed later.

I’m sorry, I would be so upset on my FI’s behalf that his parents couldn’t give enough of a shit about his wedding to book a room sooner. That really sucks. I’m sure they will figure something out, though.

cmm067:  Is there any way you can accomodate them in the beach house you rented- where your family has been invited to stay?

Is it a financial issue, or are they really just flaky? What is the cancellation policy on the rooms in your block? You could reserve one room in the block and transfer it to them so they have a place to stay. You can cancel it if they find other accommodations or if they cancel a little before. It seems like it would be worse to have them stay in your beach house.

There’s Couchsurf.com and Airbnb.com that offer rooms. It could be your best bet… They couldn’t just buy a cheap air mattress and stay at your place?

Why are you so upset?

That they might not be able to come?

Or that they didn’t help pay for your wedding and now you might have to invite them to stay with you and Your parents at your beach house?

2 hours isn’t TOO terrible a drive if it comes to that. I wouldn’t worry about it.
