@dlbaqua:  Have you contacted the Etsy seller to see if you can send it back and get a new one in the correct size?

You can also get a ring guard from any watch repair shop and many small jewelers (Kays and places like that don’t always have them) for like $10. It’s a thin strip of metal (not sure if it is real gold) that sits inside the band and makes it fit more snugly.  Just have it put on by a professional, as it can scratch up the ring if it’s put on wrong.  I have one in my ring, as I lost quite a bit of weight after we got engaged and I don’t want to have it resized till I lose just a bit more.

Oh also since it’s winter, your fi’s ring might fit a bit loose because people’s fingers tend to swell a bit in the summer. I wouldn’t panic at all till he sees how it fits in summer.

I am a 6.5 but my ring is a 7 because I was afraid that during the summer, while being out side during BBQ’s and beach etc. that my fingers will swell up due to the heat and my ring would be too tight and look terrible on my finger! Since it’s winter, when I’m outside in like 10 degree weather, my ring is really loose (but it’s nowhere near falling off loose)!!! It can just turn really easily and move forward and backwards easily, but it def doesn’t come off with gravity if I face my hand downward. A half a size is BARELY noticeable! I’m surprised he feels that much of a difference with it. Bring him to a family jewler in your area and see if they can size his ring right there on the spot! Most places do that and it takes about an hour or so.
