- Wedding: August 2013
My Fiance has an amazing story of coming from Jamaica to the United States and along the way, a lot of people helped him. They helped him with college and other parts of his life so he feels very close to these people.
We are getting married in August and we have sent out about 60 invitations to 93 people. We are hoping to settle at 75-80 people (mostly family, and some friends) and at present, we have only received 8 declines.
As he reconnects with the folks who helped him along and shares his great news with them (OUR WEDDING!), well, then he walks away feeling like they should be added to the guest list.
What should I say? I mean, we’re already HOPING for declines… and now he wants to invite more people?
I need some advice on NICELY speaking to him about this. Sometimes I can be a little bit matter-of-fact about things like this. How do I say NO nicely? Or should I look at this differently?
