hmmm – i’ve never heard of it but looking at the logo it seems they may be owned by http://www.lightinthebox.com/ – i could be completely wrong though. I tried to do a search and turned up with nothing but the logos are so similar!

I have been in love with the “Reese” wedding gown by Maggie Sottero for a while and when I saw that fishinthesky.com could re-create a similar version for $219, I decided to take a chance and purchase the dress online. I found a coupon for $9 off if you “Like” the company’s Facebook page, so my dress was only $209. I ordered the dress on 1/10/12 and received it on 2/20/12. I am very pleased with the quality! Honestly, I had very low expectations because you always hear horror stories about women who purchase their wedding gowns online, but I was very pleasantly surprised at how much the dress looked like the original designer’s gown. It is beautiful! I would definitely order another dress from this website. They are legit.

I would not reccomend ordering a dress off the website fishinthesky.com to anyone. From what I have seen, they are a scam. Yes, the dresses are cheap, but they look nothing like they do in the pictures. They look like they have been made by a very inexperienced dress maker. My friend purchased her prom dress from this site and it looked terrible. It was definitely not worth the $150 she paid for it.

This is what she ordered:

This is what she got:

I have 10 Bridesmaids and they all ordered the same dress from the same link. They put in their size, the color of the dress and hit submit. The dresses were delivered today. All the dresses are different from each other. Two of the dresses I received looked like they were used dresses, they were so dirty and had markings all over them. Everyone’s dress is either too small or too big. Not one of the dresses match eachother and they ordered from the same website and link. The dresses do not come with tags to show what size they are. They come with nothing on them except for dirt and snags all over. The receipt says $20, YES- they sure do look like $20 dresses, and we paid $160-190 per dress. I can’t believe how bad the quality of these dresses are. I can’t believe we paid so much money and all for the same dress to each get a different style dress with such poor quality. Do not waste your money here. You will be very unhappy. These are not in any way “HIGH QUALITY HANDMADE DRESSES.” They will ignore your emails and refuse to refund you with any of your money, even when it is their fault. Despite what their website says, Fishinthesky does not care whatsoever about their customers and their feelings, all they want is your $$$$ MONEY $$$$!

This company is based in China and it is very hard to communicate with them. They barely speak english. What they are doing is illegal. If you go on their website you will see the bad reviews, but most of the time they delete them and create their own “good” reviews. They steal styles from other designers and try to make it their own. Sure you will save some money, but the dresses are very BAD quality. Each one of my bridesmaids lost over 160 dollars, some even paid 190 for their dress… why? who knows why all the dresses were marked a different price, but not one of my bridesmaids got the dress they ordered, none of them matched and they were all damaged. I am getting married on May 12th and will have to find dresses for them ASAP. This has been a very hard day for me. I have been crying all day. FISHINTHESKY IS A SCAM!! PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY.

I have decided to post on every single wedding website I can find about Fishinthesky and other companies like this. No one should ever be fooled into buying these dresses and I am going to put a stop to it, especially because they refuse to refund any of my bridesmaids. I am going to contact every news channel, radio station and all the websites in the USA so they will let other brides, bridesmaids, girls shopping for their prom dresses or homecoming gowns to NOT buy from this website.

Yea I would stay away from that one…I’m looking to order online, too, for money reasons. I’ve been researching a few companies for months now and so far have not heard anything bad about Shades of Pale or Phoebe’s Bridal. However, anyone who has dealt with either of these companies is more than welcome to comment and share your experiences.

I have been in communication with Phoebe’s Bridal, and so far they have replied to my many and varied questions within 24 hours. I’ve read some good reviews on them, and have yet to find a bad one. But, as I said, any Bees who have had bad experiences, please share!

@Amy6484:  I was wondering if you could post pictures of how bad the dresses turned out so that way Brides can see with their eyes what you are talking about and so that we can tell that you are a real person trying to just help us out!
