Do you ever feel as if some Bees come to the hive for this purpose?
Do you ever feel as if some Bees come to the hive for this purpose?
Sometimes, yes. I don’t know if they start out with that intent, but time to time I come across a post that isn’t about sharing an experience, or wedding detail ( ring, dress, planning etc..) and is clearly just about fishing for compliments and showing off. I reciently read a post in which that intent was very obvious.
@melisslp: Definitely.
I know I’m guilty of the occasional fish, though.
I haven’t really thought that, though I do give them often and get them too and of course I’m not complaining. 🙂
I think we’re ALL guilty of this from time to time (including me)!
It’s the posts where people ask if their butt looks big in an outfit, when it truly doesn’t, that get me going. I’d love to say “Yes, your a** is big”, but I bite my tonguel
DEFINITELY. I think some posts even kind of say it….”I already bought this and there is no turning back BUT please reassure me….”
I’m not sure if this thread will end well OP. LOL
@melisslp: haha yes, exactly!
lol as an accidental-fisher, I feel totally embarrased at my fishery post. Honestly. I seriously didn’t think about wanting people to say I looked good (HONESTLY!, though it was nice *blushes admitting this*).
I had an issue with the dress when trying it on and my mum wasn’t particularly helpful and went to the bee for help. I’m not comfortable with girly things or being pretty or anythign like that. I’m not a tomboy or anything, just a lazymare when it comes to personal care and would rather have 15 more mins in bed than do my hair. I never care what I look like. Caring what I look like is a new thing for me and to be honest, it’s a bit terrifying. That sounds stupid, but I have always been confident in what I look like and it’s never been an issue. Until now! I’m beginning to care about things like nails and shoes and stuff like waxing that I never thought of before. Im out of my depth and having a mum who is similar to me doesn’t help so I asked for it. It ended up being nice being told I looked good but I was also embarrased that people thought that was my sole intent. Eep!
lol I know I don’t need to justify myself but I am slightly embarrased that people may have thought my original intent was fishery though I did reap the benefits.
@gelaine22: I mostly wanted Bees to see the pic I posted, which is super cute (and true). Crossing fingers nobody feels hurt by this post.
@mecattacow: You’re good, girlie! Nothing is wrong with getting reassurance from the ladies!
@mecattacow: No need to justify! 🙂 I believe this thread is made in general, with no one specific person in mind.
@melisslp: Haha yeah, I’m sure they do! But hey, what better place than here to fish? =P I think we all need the reassurance every now and again.
That picture is really cute, haha.
@melisslp: I think the picture is funny and it reminded me more of Facebook than anything happening on the Bee. Especially the girls I know that are always and forever posting “selfie” pics and obviously fishing for compliments. Why else would you feel the need to post a million pictures that you’ve taken of yourself?
I feel like the Bee is slightly different in that aspect. We all know that we are anxious about how we are going to look on our wedding day, so we post a bunch of pictures of ourselves in our wedding dresses or with certain hair/makeup looking for reassurance. And yes, some might feel the need to post it with a disclaimer of “I’m not sure if I look ok..” even though they are really thinking “Damn I look good and I want other people to tell me that!” 🙂 And some are genuinely self-conscious even though they look dang good.
@E_Lynne615: Definitely! Everyone wants to make sure that they look awesome for their wedding. And considering how many stunningly beautiful brides there are on here, its no wonder we’d be self-conscious! Haha. I see people and I’m like “dang, I’m worried I won’t look that good!”
Cute picture!
I don’t feel like it happens all the time, but definitely every once in a while there will be a very obvious one. I just ignore it and move on. I saw one today and really wanted to comment something, but I refrained!
