Its one of the many types of micro pave setting, which I ABSOLUTELY LOVE! I had mine custom made from a jeweler. They cannot do a hand wax carving because it needs to be very precise, so if you were to have one made, make sure its made by a computer wax carving. Here is a picture of what a fishtail micro pave setting looks like. its actually how the side of the setting looks. (some has a U shape on the side which is a different type of micro pave setting.

I just recently got it from my Fiance, so I’m not sure if any diamonds are going to fall out. But from what the jeweler told me, not all jewelers specialize/skilled in setting micro pave setting because it takes great precision to set it. That is why some diamonds fall out. Do your research on the jeweler before proceeding.

Its very hard to see but, in between the “v” are 2 small v’s in between like this / to hold the diamonds. Its very unique and intricate!!

By The Way, my jeweler told me not a lot of people knows/can do this specific type of micro pave.
