What are your fitness goals (long-term/short-term)?: To stay with it and not quit! I’ve been rebounding for years and I am sick of it.

 What changes are you making to reach your goals (exercise, diet, etc)?: Going even when I don’t want to, at least 4 days of hard excercise per week, keeping portion sizes down. I’ve added swimming to the repertoire and have taken out running and elliptical since I hurt my foot. I’m happiest on the bike or in the water.

 What’s the hardest part of getting fit for you?: I love food. My husband cooks most of it, but he tends to do meat and potatoes/pasta, so I have to really fight getting seconds.

 Favorite workouts: Lately the cable weight machine is my favourite. I’ve finally stopped caring at how silly I may look and am trying all the things 🙂 Checked out my shoulders today in spin class and was pretty happy!

 Favorite healthy recipe (because we can all use new ideas!): all natural cookies! mash two bananas with about a cup of rolled oats, add cinnamon and some nuts, mix it all together and spoon onto a baking sheet. Bake at 350 until firm. Makes a great middday snack.

@SadieBee:  Feeling much better today and my weight is down to a record low of 59.7kg (131lb). Now I just have to eat ALL THE THINGS until Saturday to get my strength back!

I must admit, I’ve been slacking this week with exercise. missed monday because I had a late meeting, was exhausted yesterday and snow day today (I know, I know- all lame excuses and I could have at least fit in a 1/2 hour workout at home). But I have 3 more days to get to the gym for a total of 4 times this week which isn’t too shabby.

What are your fitness goals (long-term/short-term)?: My overall goal is to love my body… inside and out. I am very body conscious and would like to tone up and gain about 5lbs of muscle. I currently weigh about 111. I also suffer from arthritis and would like to get strong. Sometimes when i go a while without any focus on fitness and strength i Cant even open a water bottle. 

What changes are you making to reach your goals (exercise, diet, etc)?: I have been going to a bootcamp for a while however it was scheduled classes and was sometimes hard to get in and i would fall off the bus for sometimes weeks, and sometimes months; so i cancelled it. I recently signed up for a local gym and i picked it because it was right beside my work and 24-7… so i have no excuse not to go. lol. Also… as of Feb 1st, I cut out sugar, snack foods, and cut down on carbs. I would consume a ton of sugar daily. Going from at least a liter of pop a day and candy or chips here or there to water and veggies is one of my biggest changes. so much that i’ve gotten headaches. 🙁 

What’s the hardest part of getting fit for you?: Food. I love the taste of food… and most specifically, sweets and slurpees. part of it is getting bored, i’ve already started drinking water and have had the temptation of breaking that and picking up a slurpee.

Favourite workouts: Bootcamp, I love when I get yelled at to workout and go hard for an hour… DONT STOP! KEEP GOING! YOU CAN DO IT! I like when I wake up the next morning sore.

Favourite healthy recipe (because we can all use new ideas!): I dont really have any recipes yet but I love chicken salad. I use a combo of butter lettuce and spinach, tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, a little bit of cheese and chicken which i flavor (most commonly with teriyacki). you can throw whatever veggies in there that you want.

Proud of myself tonight. I was so tired from lack of sleep last night but I pushed myself to go to the gym after work anyways. I only did 30 minutes on the bike, but it was a tough 30 minutes—cross country circuit– and it’s better than the alternative, which was sitting on the couch! Plus, when I work out, I don’t go for junk food because then I just wasted 30-60 minutes!
