January Week 1 Goals:

Exercise Goal: core work 3x this week (I’ll specify once I get a solid routine and know where I’m at fitness wise), run/walk 2x this week (walking because it’s been forever since I ran and we still have snow on the ground), stretching daily, foam rolling after running.

Food/Diet Goal: eat breakfast every day, drinking 70 ounces of water/day

Healthy Habits Goal: I NEED to start taking better care of myself emotionally because it’s having an affect on my physical health. I tend to take on other people’s problems and stresses and it’s weighing me down. Overall I care too much, which is great but I need to take some time for myself. So I’m taking suggestions on how to work this one out. My thoughts are: meditating or writing in a journal/blog

@ED13:  I’m with you on the anti-flabby arm warpath!!! πŸ™‚  And $20/month for a facial would be totally worth it in my book!

@ED13:

yes wedding planning plus the usual family/friend drama plus being a people pleaser as turned me into a teeth grinder. So it’s time to focus on me. But then I feel so guilty for saying that. Vicious cycle.

Good on you for the facials. I’ve never had one. I have fairly clear skin and I wash it maybe once a week with a scrub and then every other day with face soap. I’m kind of chicken about trying facials because I’m scared my skin will freak out. But I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have smaller pores! πŸ™‚

You guys are a bit more exercise-y than me, but I did get out to the gym this morning and walked on the treadmill for a good 90 minutes.  So, that was good!  Hoping to set the habit then ramp up the intensity.

Back on the healthy eating kick today.  Had a salad and soup at lunch, but the salad turned out to not be quite as healthy as I’d hoped… (fattier ham).  So, I skipped the dressing entirely.  Need to bring my lunches to work.

Goals for the week: Get to the gym 2 more times, go rollerskating this weekend, and up my water intake (which is pitifully low right now).  Also, stock the kitchen with healthy easy meals!

@ED13:  I’m with you on the battle being partly mental.  i’m a size 14, which I know some people would wince at… but mostly I’m concerned with feeling better both physically and mentally.  I won’t have a six-pack any time soon, but I don’t want to be in a position where I don’t want to look at my own wedding photos because I don’t think I look like myself!

I went to Turbo Kick class on Thursday night and I’m SOOOO sore!!!! My whole body hurts, yowza!  I managed to go cross-country skiing for about 45 minutes yesterday, but I haven’t been for a run this week. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be less sore and able to hit the treadmill for a couple of miles. πŸ™‚

I have been trackin my calories for the last few days again and staying within my limits. Victory! πŸ™‚

well I lost 4lbs from Friday to Sunday. I’d like to say it was because I was literally working my booty off in the gym but I’ve had a dang stomach bug. So my goals just did not happen. I did 1 core workout and 1 walk/run. And then…I ran for the toilet. I don’t think that counts. I did scrub the house down Saturday afternoon and worked up quite a sweat, I wanted all of the germs out of this house!

Goals for this week:

Exercise Goal: core work 3x this week, run/walk 3x this week (walking because it’s been forever since I ran and we still have snow on the ground), foam rolling after running.

Food/Diet Goal: eat breakfast every day and continue to keep my portions small.

Healthy Habits Goal: Not get sick! EVER! Just kidding! But at least for a very long time. I’ve had 1 long cold and this stomach bug in a month…that’s too much. Take my vitamins every night and drink 70 oz of water/day.

I’ll join!

Exercise Goal: Really start to train for my april half marathon (my first one!!) I would like to run 3x this week, with at least two of those runs being 3 miles. I would also like to swim once and continue to strength train.

Food Goal: Less processed food. I was doing really good about this until the holidays and I want to get back on track.

Healty Habit Goal: drink water! and stay in shape so that I don’t die during my half marathon.
