We had planned to go to Seaside, FL, until the oil spill took place & left us stressed that we may not get to spend any time on the beach.   We changed our honeymoon to a cruise, however we’re hoping we can swing it to go to Seaside for our 1st anniversary.   I’ve never been, but Darling Husband has been there, and from what he says and what I’ve read, it’s a very quiet, quaint town to just relax in and enjoy some downtime.

I have been to Siesta Key, and only one word to describe that beach….AMAZING!   Definitely the prettiest sand I’ve ever seen….

If you are wanting to spend the time going to dinner a lot or going out then PCB is definitely where to go.. I love PCB, Destin is a little bit nicer though but a little more pricey.. West Palm, St. Pete Beach, or Jacksonville Beach are all nice too.. Jacksonville Beach doesn’t have a lot of stuff right there so you do have to drive around a little.. West Palm has gorgeous beaches & tons to do..

Soooo many great choices.  I’d like to recommend Captiva/Ft. Myers/Sanibel or St. Augustine.  I also like Clearwater and Destin, although they aren’t the most romantic.

I second siesta key!  I’m also a big fan of Sarasota.  I’m a big fan of naples too, though I’m biased because I lived there haha.  Oh, Fiance and I stayed at this bread and breakfast once, http://www.palmettoriverside.com/ it was amaaaaaazzzing, definitely worth looking into! So romantic and cute, and they’re really great to guests!

I personally dont like Ft Myers or Ft Lauderdale in general. I would definitely suggest Sanibel Island though. Sanibel is BEAUTIFUL and there are periwinkles, sand dollars, and dolphins everywhere. And you can walk for what seems like forever out to sandbars. PCB is pretty but very touristy depending on the time of year. BUT there is A LOT to do there. Cute shops, fun site seeing, dancing, boardwalks, everything. West Palm is nice, but can be pricey. Miami is beautiful but VERY busy. Hmmmm…..Destin and Sanibel are my two votes! Oh, and PCB comes in third.

And I’ve been everywhere multiple times so I’ve had time to evaluate, haha. I’ve lived in this state forever.

I’m from Florida (South Florida, but lived in Tallahassee(North Florida) for 5 years) and I would probably say don’t go to Ft Lauderdale for a honeymoon.  It’s more of a young party place.  I suggest Destin in N. Florida, Key West, or Sanibel Island in W. Florida!

We vacation in Clearwater every year.  Love it.  Not necessarily romantic but you can spice it up! 😉

A big fan of the Keys as well.  And Miami.  But I’m a city girl that loves the nightlife!
