@kittywolf13:  Are you in FL already? If so you are in the perfect place to go somewhere for the weekend and not freeze to death in Feb.

If not I would suggest somewhere in the Keys.

@kittywolf13:   For just a weekend, driving for a couple of hours (and staying under 2k) is perfectly feasible. I’m not sure how elaborate you want to make this weekend, though, but there are tons of things to do in Florida. You could go to Miami, or head north to Orlando and check out the theme parks or see a show. You could rent a condo and spend a secluded weekend in where no one can disturb you; try to find one with a whirpool tub and enjoy a bath together over wine, chocolates, strawberries… Stock up on food so you don’t have to leave, or hit up a restaurant you want to try. I’m not really sure what all to suggest since this is a very general post, but I hope I helped.

On the budget thing, a few friends of mine and I spent 4 days on the beach in PC and didn’t even spend $400 each (and we went during the summer, not the off-season, though we got a deal on the condo through one girl’s uncle). You could probably find condo or hotel deals in February since the beachs don’t really start picking up till March or April, when the spring breakers come in. You can likely also find good deals on attractions as well; my best friend and I took 3 kids out for a weekend on less than $500, although this was not in Florida and we stayed in a La Quinta and a Country Inn & Suites. But $2k is certainly doable, especially if you’re you’re willing to drive instead of buying plane tickets, although you could still do a good weekend somewhere else for that amount (especially if you book plane tickets and hotel early!). February is a great time to hit up beaches and stuff because it’s the off-season, and you may be able to snag some Valentine’s deals in other places (a poster below suggested Vegas, for instance), even if it’s not on Valentine’s Day weekend (some places do month-long deals for couples during February, especially on little things like having a bottle of wine and some chocolates in your hotel room- adding that on can cost up to $100 alone!).

What about Vegas? You could have a pretty good weekend there with your budget. Our first trip together was a week in Vegas and it was awesome! And we totally aren’t the party type by the way, but if you’ve never been there’s so much to see/shows/etc. I recommend Wynn/Encore to stay at – by far our favorite after we’ve been to a few different spots.

@kittywolf13:  Since you are already in FL, what about a 3 day cruise from Miami or Ft Lauderdale? You can usually book one for about $150pp. Somtimes less.

@kittywolf13:  a cruise! depending on where you live (east coast is much cheaper) a cruise would be the best option. Whether for your full honey moon in the summer or a quick 3 day get away. I adore them, they have everything to offer. Usually under $600 (4 days from east coast can sometimes be under 3!) and it includes all food on board, just pay for alcohol. They have casino, dancing, shopping, pools, comedy shows, singers, dancers, lounges and then not to mention all the fun stuff you can at port wherever your ship may stop.
