I am making my own invitations and purchased extra coordinating paper in the same size as the invite to fit into the extra invitation enevelpes to use as Thank You notes. Everyone keeps telling me that the Thank You cards are going to be too big and that I will never be able to fill them unless I write in HUGE block letters. Is it ok to cut the note along the fold to turn it into a flat card and then decorate the top middle to cut down on available space? Is it ok to have a flat card as a Thank You note or must you open it as a card?

I know a lot of people that do thank yous as postcards but that is a little too informal for my taste. I think it probably will be fine as a flat card with an envelope but I typically prefer a folded card.
Can you add a picture of something to the folded card to take up some space? What about a custom stamp?

Flat Cards are fine. I ordered custom invites including my flat thank you notes. It is just a matter of personal preference.

We are using flat cards (left over from invitation stuff) for everything before the wedding and shower thank yous. We want to include a photo after the wedding so we bought folded cards for that.
I wouldn’t worry about ‘filling the space’ on the card. I’ve gotten folded cards with just one of the four surfaces written on and I didn’t think anything of it.
