My name is Katy- I am just pricing things out for my wedding next year. Anyone have any thoughts on putting out a bin of like ballet flats for my guests? I went to a wedding once where they had this bucket full of flat shoes to change into (so you could actually dance instead of sitting down and regreting your shoe choice.) I thought it was actually really smart, because usually you end up kicking your heels off anyway, and these made it so your feet didnt get black and gross. But do other people mind that? I also kinda thought they made a nice favor. So far this place I found online called cinderollies.com looks like the best bargain. Anyone have any thoughts? Help me please!!

RosaBride: I want to buy like a bunch of them to give to all the female guests. Does payles have anything less than $7? That’s how much that cinderollies site offers them for- some kind of bulk discount for brides.

I’ve seen people put out flip flops. May be a cheaper option especially when old navy has a sale

I strongly considered doing the box of flip-flops! The only thing that stopped me, is I had a super small wedding of 32 people, so I didn’t see the point. If I had a wedding of 60 people or more, I could have totally justified it!

I know one bride who did that and almost no one used them! She said it was a big waste of money. But I agree with pp, Old Navy is probably a good option. They are usually pretty cheap! You might also be able to find a place online who sells them in bulk or something.

We did the flip flops at our wedding and it worked out great. Flip flops are easier because usually a person can size up or down so having an exact size isn’t an issue like it is with flats. We had an outdoor wedding and I thought it was important incase guests forgot they’d be walking on a lawn and showed up in heels. I bought 25 pairs for a 120/140 person wedding and had 2 pairs leftover.

Flip flops are cheap. But they look cheap. I have been to weddings that have used both- flip flops and flats. The flats killed it! I was up dancing all night and they stayed on my feet, unlike flip flops. Plus, people take them home and actually use them- instead of throwing away flip flops at the end of the night. I say get the flats FOR SURE! And if you found a good deal ($7?!), then you should definitely go for it!

I think its a great idea! I know once a year Old Navy does a huge sale where all flip flops are $1, not sure of the date though!
