I’m 5’8” and fiancé is 5’10. He has said he doesn’t care if or when I wear heels around him, but it makes me self conscious to be taller than him. I’m looking for some pretty flats to wear when we get married next June. I don’t have a dress yet. I’m just wondering if any of the other bees wore flats instead of heels? Pics would be appreciated!

I’m not engaged yet (close, though) and plan on wearing flats. I’m only 5’3” and my SO is 5’5.5” and is very much like yours in that he doesn’t care if I wear heels and am taller, but I don’t like wearing heels if I can avoid, plus I’m having more and more pain all over my body.
I just discovered these today and the price alone has made them to most serious contender ever for my shoes.

I wore flats! I’m also 5’8″ and I dont mind wearing heels and being an amazon, but I got married on grass and my feet always hurt in heels. I wanted to be comfortable and dance all night! I wore these which I got for like $40 cad.

I’m wearing flats! And I’m only 5’4, lol. I just can’t do heels. Total disaster. I know I’ll feel much more comfortable in flats. My fiance isn’t super tall (5’9) so there’s not a huge height difference anyway.
https://shoebakery.com/collections/flats/products/vanilla-scented-jimmie-sprinkle-flats They are these flats from the Shoe Bakery. We both LOVE ice cream and have been on many ice cream dates over the years – so I thought these would be a fun choice. Plus they smell like vanilla!

I’ve seen a lot of really pretty flat evening sandals lately in the stores – delicate metallic straps, rhinestones/beading, etc.

I’m pretty close to my fiance’s height (5’9″ to his 5’11”) so I can’t wear much of a heel without being taller than him. Not terribly fond of heels to begin with – I have weird pinky toes so most pairs are super painful for me, and because I don’t wear them that much, I’m not that good at walking in them anyway.
However, when I needed some nice heels for something, the shoe salesman brought me out some pumps made by Walking Cradles, and holy shit they are the most comfortable heels I’ve ever worn. I could walk for miles in them without killing my feet. I decided I would get the same brand for my wedding shoes.
I wanted either a flat or low heel, both to be comfortable and not be taller than my finance. I ended up with these: https://walkingcradles.com/collections/dress-shoes/products/heidi-white-leather-new
They have a low, broad heel that makes them comfy and super stable.
The flats in this brand weren’t particularly elegant, so I didn’t go with them. The type of pointy elegant flats I’d want are exactly the type of shoe that hurt my little toes, hence going with the comfy but still elegant low-heel pump.

I’m wearing these because I want to be comfy, and I think they’re amazing:

I am 5’2″ and my husband is 6″. It never occured to me that heels were necessary even though I could have easily got away with it given our height difference. I wore flats because I am not very comfortable in heels. My bridemaids wore whatever they wanted, which was heels. Here they are: https://www.modcloth.com/shop/shoes/divine-dining-flat-in-champagne/100000173574.html

We got married in a park outside (lots of grass) so I wore these : https://www.badgleymischka.com/hampden/
Badgely Mischka has a nice selection of fancy sandals- if you’re looking for something more formal. Congratulations!

Those are really pretty, I’m thinking something like that.

I wore low heels for my ceremony then switched into these Badgley Mischka flats (Gigi). I loved them! They look nicer than the pic looks.

- Wedding: June 2018 - Tizer Gardens/Carroll College
So I tried really hard to talk myself into heels. but it was an outdoor wedding, and I’ve sprained both ankles/feet in the last 8 months. In fact, when I HAD to make a decision, I had injured my foot so badly, that I knew my only option were flats. The other thing was, I really wanted to be comfortable. So I bought a pair of Love shoes by Ellen that were part of the theme (andh ad them for our engagement shoot), and a pair of sparkly keds for the reception. Both were comfortable and I have no regrets.
