hi!
i am now playing with the idea of just wearing flats to the wedding. I bought a 3.5 inch shoes and after trying it on for 5 min, i just dont think it’s going to work out. I want to be comfortable on the day of the wedding. but also want to make sure i dont have ugly shoes sticking out of my dress in my photos.
for those of you guys who wore flats to your wedding, were there many pictures where your shoes are showing?
did u regret the decision? thanks!

I’m going with heels, mostly because I like the look, but also because Fiance is over a foot taller than I am. I know several people are talking about wearing heels, and they have some cute ones! Most of the pictures I have seen where shoes are showing are because they were doing it on purpose. If you’re really undecided, you might consider wearing heels for the ceremony and changing into flats for the reception….just an idea I’ve seen some others discussing!

I am wearing flats for comfortsake. There is no way that I am getting blisters on my wedding day, right before our honeymoon! I am going with some awesome purple flats. I think they will make for great pictures!

I’m wearing heels for the wedding, but only because my FH is is about 8" taller than me and I’m looking to close the gap a little. If I could wear flats though, I totally would. What silhouette is your dress. Depending on what type of dress you have, your shoes shouldn’t really be seen throughout the day unless you are posing for a shot, or dancing!

Definitely flat for comfort. You will be standing a very long time. Your pictures would look bad if you are uncomfortable. How can you smile if your feet are aching?

I am wearing these flats. I’m already tall with my Fiance only being 3 inches taller, so I’m okay with flats. Plus I agree. You are going to be on your feet CONSTANTLY during your wedding day, so unless you find the ever so elusive comfortable pair of heels, then I’m all for the flats.

I’m planning on hunting down flats too (I’m already 5’11 and my Fiance is 6’3) but haven’t really started yet. I did see some cute ballet flats via some Bridesmaid or Best Man dress designer website.. I think it may have been Dessy? Hm.. can’t quite remember. Maybe check around some of those websites.

I think the only pictures that you can usually see are the ones the photographer takes of just your accessories (shoes, jewelry, etc.) and then if you kick up your heels. My friend wore her heels for the pictures, but changed into wedges for the ceremony, and then flats for the reception. Nobody could see her wedges. The only problem was, when she changed to flats, her dress dragged on the ground a bit since her heels were 3 inches tall.
Maybe just go with a cute pair of flats so you won’t have to change? I saw a bunch here that you might like: http://www.weddingfeet.com/heel-height/flats-1-inch-or-less

I am very tall so often look for dressy flats. They can be hard to find! The best trick I’ve learned is to search for "kitten heals" instead of "flats." This gives you more evening type shoes rather than basic ballet flats (which are easy to find).
Desert Brides’ shoes (adesertfete.blogspot.com) are fabulous. http://adesertfete.blogspot.com/2008/09/she-him.html
The crew can also be counted on for lots of funky cuties http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Browse/WomenBrowse/Women_Shop_By_Category/shoes/heels/ PRDOVR~11245/11245.jsp Check both their flat sandals section and their flats and mocs section.

I wore flats and it was fine. The only pictures of them were in details or when the photographer asked me to take them off and put then beside me. There’s lots of cute and comfortable flats out there, so I’m sure you’ll find something!

@keypie100 that is a really great point you brought up! i’m not sure if i would look better (aka prettier, more feminine) walking in a pair of heels or flats. i’m debating the flat vs. low heel issue. i have foot problems and i’m 5’7”… Fiance 6’0”… i guess i’ll see which looks best with my dress?
