Flawed diamond VS moissanite

For me it depends how bad the flaws are. I saw a beautiful 1 carat J SI1 diamond in excellent cut that was eye clean, and I would have that a million times over a 2 carat flawless moissanite. If the flaws are very obvious or the colour is bad then I would just get a smaller diamond.

I know some people love moissanites and prefer them over diamonds, but for me it will always be a simulate, as most people will just assume a clear stone in an engagement ring is a diamond due to lack of knowledge of other stones. If it’s over sized or behaves very differently to a diamond then most will probably just assume it’s a cubic zirconium rather than a moissanite.

Before I used weddingbee I’d never even heard of moissanite before. I think there are some amazing and beautiful moissanites out there, however, I am always drawn to the ones that look more “diamond like”, therefore, for me I should obviously just get a diamond rather than a stone that I want to look and act like one.

It depends what you prefer, if you want a moissanite because you want it to look and act like a diamond then get a diamond. If you want a moissanite because you prefer it to a diamond then get the moissanite.

I would save money and wait on an upgrade until I can get exactly what I want.  I personally would not want a Moisessnite in place of a diamond engagement ring.  I would consider it for a stand in ring when we were traveling and I didn’t feel comfortable wearing my diamonds, but never for my true E ring….

Diamond – I would say maybe down down in carat size to get a better quality, or maybe look at bands instead of rings for now and upgrade later?

I don’t like sims, but that’s just me.

It really depends on what you really want – diamond or moissy?  If you want a flawless diamond, you can go smaller and then upgrade someday.  Or you can get a big moissy and save money.  I have a 1.51 carat diamond and while it is not internally flawless, it still has great specs and I love it. I didn’t want anything else other than a diamond.

graciekart88 :  given your finger size and desire for a proportional stone, don’t get a flawed diamond, go for a big, clear, we’ll cut Moissanite!

Given the choice between a large included I color diamond and a moissanite, I would pick a F1 in a second. I would rather have a smaller colorless, ex cut diamond than both those options though. I feel lucky to have a high stats diamond, but I’ve also always thought that moissanites are so much more attractive than lower color included diamonds (modern cuts).

bklyn18 :  h&a forever one….it looks like the most perfect diamond you will ever see. I just ordered a ring after i saw it too. I wasnt a fan of previous moissanites.

Diamond. I prefer the crushed ice or step cuts of some diamonds as opposed to the rainbow flash of some diamonds and all moissys. I wanted an oval and I don’t like the flash of oval moissy, mine is more of a crushed ice look and less sparkly. I know it’s weird, most people want more sparkle.
