I love my flip. I wouldn’t say it’s great for a wedding DIY video, but it’s so fun that I’d def grab one for $40 if I didn’t already have one (that I paid full price for!)

@Miss Wallaroo: I was just thinking about putting on tables to film candid moments! I just printed 6 off and forwarded the link/coupon to my co-workers!

I’m really excited! I wish it would last longer than the 9th though, but I think I’ll run and pick up a few tomorrow after work! Yahooooo!

Thanks so much for sharing!

What one is on sale for $79.99? I’m going to the states tomorrow so this is perfect! I just want to know the specs on the cheapest one. I may spend a bit more and get the one thats a bit more expensive if its worth it!

@Miss Wallaroo:  Good comparison info.  It’s a neat little device and has it’s uses for sure!

The digital zoom is a gimmick.  You wan’t an optical zoom.  It basically just enlarges the image at the expense of resolution, it doesn’t use a lens to actually magnify the image.  You can use a digital zoom feature on a computer while editing, it’s the same as cropping.

@Miss Wallaroo:  It would take more advance editing tools to zoom in using a crop in post production than what comes with the player. Using the digital zoom does the same thing in the camera.  I like to use the word pixelate, because that is what happens, you enlarge a crop of the image to the same size of the original image and it gets grainy or pixelated.  Having the digital zoom is better than nothing I suppose.

I’d go with the ultra over the mino if possible.  You give up the smaller size but get more features including using AA batteries.  Once the internal battery is gone in the mino it may be a paperweight if it’s no replaceable (I am not sure of this as of yet).
