- Wedding: April 2017 - The Waterfall
I know these are popular and we are thinking about doing one. My dad brought up what happens of the flip flop breaks and someone gets injured? Anyone who has done the flip flop basket, did any break while people were dancing?
This made me think about purchasing those Cinderollies..I think that’s how it’s spelled. They’re a little more money, but maybe have less chance of breaking??
i think flip flops are a good option to have, so women don’t need to wear high heels if they don’t want to. And it might get more people to dance, since they won’t have to be barefoot.
thoughts or ideas?

Honestly? I don’t think it’d be worth it. If I wanted to dance but not in heels, I’d either wear my own shoes in the first place OR bring shoes to change in to. Plus, what would you do with leftover flip flops? It’s not a bad idea to have a flip flop basket by any means, I just think there are better things to spend the budget on… like cake! 😉

We did this. At the very last minute, my mom decided we had
to include this in the crazy extravagant bathroom basket/display she put together. I thought it was silly, but people LOVED them! The flip flops were all gone in like the first 30 minutes of dancing. I had to send one of my BMs into the bathroom to snag me a pair before they were all gone. None broke that I know of! I still have mine in my closet. We went with the ones from Old Navy – a little pricey when you’re buying a whole bunch, but they’re good quality.

We are having flip flops for the dance floor. I got them during Old Navy’s $1 flip flop sale, and then bought 2 crate-type baskets at Michael’s to put them in.
Honestly, I don’t think you need to worry about flip flops breaking and people getting injured…. the likelihood of that happening seems very small (how intensely would your guests be dancing in order to break their shoes??). I’ve been to a bunch of weddings where the couple set out sandals for guests to wear dancing and have never seen any of them break.

Did this and they were a big hit. All were gone in like 15 minutes. I only have a pair because a family member forgot to pack hers when she was heading back home (yay). Also got mine from Old Navy and would recommend- it’s my first anniversary tomorrow (!!!) and I still see family members wearing them, so they definitely last. Old Navy has a $1 flip flop sale, so you can check it out.

Yeah, I would definitely recommend them. We had a few pairs left over, but everyone loved them. I use them at every wedding I go to that has them. I highly recommend Old Navy’s flip flop sale, but I think it was in early July. At least, it was last year when i bought them for my wedding. I’d keep an eye out for online sales as summer winds down though. And for the record, all of my pairs of old navy flip flops have lasted through multiple seasons (3+) and I’ve never had them break.
