That’s a really good idea.. I’d just get a variety of sizes, usually they come in sizes like 7-9, 9-11, etc and I’m sure not everyone will use them. When I go to weddings I always throw a pair of fancy flat sandals in my bag to switch into when my feet start hurting!
First of all, wait for the Old Navy flip flop sale in May. They are $1. I went last year and saved a ton of $. I basically figured out how many girls were attending, figured what % would most likely use the flip flops and then bought mostly 7/8s and fewer 6/9/10s.
Remember that during the Old Navy sale, you are limited to only 5 pairs each so you might have to run from register to register and have to find the ccolors you want. Anyhow, I just bought mine online. Old Navy had a 30% coupon so mine came out to $1.75 and that was cheap enough for me not to worry about braving the crowds. And it was with free shipping. I, like other brides figured that half the guests would be females and about two thirds of them will wear the flip flops so I bought about that amount. Mostly 8s and 9s with a few 7s, 10s and two 11s. I hope that helps.
@bRooklynRocks: I totally lucked out and had the most painless Old Navy experience, somehow I found the only deserted one. I did have to check out over and over again but all the cashiers got into it when they found out it was for a wedding. I will say I asked my mom to pop in later that day at another Old Navy to get a couple more of a particular size and she said it was a mad house.
I got all my flip flops at the Old Navy $1 sale. I think I had about 50 pairs of them (about 40 for women, 10 for men, all various sizes). I think I still had about 35 pairs left at the end of the night. Under buy! I was really surprised they didn’t get snatched up! My guests really preferred the pashminas I put out as well 🙂
My Future Mother-In-Law bought all of mine last fall. I asked her to get 30 pairs and she got 60. I’m guessing we’ll have a lot left over. However, I told her to get a bunch of 7’s, 8’s, and 9’s and limited amounts of 6’s and 10’s. I don’t see guys at my wedding needing them so we just got them for the ladies.
Thanks ladies! I didn’t know that they had a sale in May but I will wait until then!
@destiny1120 – I am going tp check out the site as well. Did you receive them yet? If so, are they comparable to old navy?
We bought them and people loved them! Go with the bell curve of sizes, for both women and men. For example, for women you would get mostly the most common sizes (7/8), less of the less common sizes (6/9), and maybe a couple 5s or something similar.
I’ve actually found flip flops at the dollar tree in the past, for a dollar. They are actually decent quality and they usually last me through the summer.
Dollar Tree has them on their website right now. A case of 48 is $48. They come in a variety of sizes. I ordered the black & white patterned ones but they have other options as well.
wow! Great websites! That eroswholesale.com website looks great for prices but looks like most items you have to order in super mega stock by the pallets….dollar tree looks good though also…
We did a few pairs of 5-6, 7-8, and 9-10 each… We got them in our wedding colors and only got enough for about 10-15% of our guests (since most of the guys weren’t going to change out of their shoes, and knowing that my friend who I stole the idea from had a TON leftover!). They were gone in the first hour!
