(Closed) Floating Candles and Burn time

On another forum, a bride posted that she tested out the ones she bought from Michael’s and they lasted 10 hours.

It wouldn’t surprise me that the burning time would vary between cheap and more expensive candles.

It also depends on how they are used. If they are in a shallow bowl , out in the open where there is a breeze, they will burn much faster than if they are a couple of inches down in a cylinder vase.

Here is one site that gives a 7 hr burn time for a 3″ floating candle:

I bought some from Michael’s, they were lit at 4pm and will still going strong after midnight.   I actually sold them along with my cylinder vases, because they probably still had another few hours of burn time.  The girl who bought them was just planning a short 2 hr reception, so she was able to use the same ones!

What kind of vase were you using?   We had no issues with ours.  They lit them and we didn’t have to fuss with them at all.  Here’s a guest photo of ours:
