We’re having a vintage-themed wedding. I already purchased thistle flower heads from Save-on-Crafts and plan to use them in my candle luminaries lighting the way (last photo attached).
When I first got the thistle flower heads, I intended to use them in the vintage glass bottles that will be the table centerpieces (3-5 bottles per table). I glued the flower head onto a real wood stick and liked the “woodsy” vintage look. Fiance wasn’t thrilled and really wants real flowers…until we received our flower quote which was 3x our $1,000 budget. We’ve gone back and forth with the florist and she has us down to $1,200 but now I’m thinking of going back to my original plan of “preserved” flowers in vintage bottles and letting the florist do real bouquets and corsages.
These are the flowers I would use from Save-on-Crafts – all in vintage bottles.
Do you think it would look bad to have preserved flowers on the tables, but real flowers for the bouquets/corsages? How do you feel about the look of preserved flowers for a wedding centerpiece?
I could honestly probably do everything I want for under $200 (if that). Honest thoughts?
