Hi all, has anyone ever DIYed a floral archway for their ceremony? I’m having an outdoor ceremony and I would really like an archway to be a backdrop for us. My florist estimated this to be 500-800$ which I don’t think I can justify for a 20 minute ceremony! There are plain metal arches for sale on Amazon for 35$ so I’m thinking of starting with that and then adding flowers. Has anyone ever put anything similar together? I would love to see pics and know how much it cost you!
This is my inspiration pic

Are you willing to use silk flowers as opposed to fresh flowers? I think it’d be risky to set it up the day before with real florals because if you don’t have a cool enough place to keep the arch overnight, many of the flowers may wilt.

Arches are an easy DIY. That doesn’t necessarily mean that you want to do the work the day of your wedding with fresh flowers.
I would do a base with a garland or branches of silk greenery, then tuck in some flowers or flowering branches in florist tubes the day of.
If you want live flowers, you could make up arrangements in blocks of floral foam the day before, then wire them to the arch the day of. IT helps if you have somewhere cool to keep them overnight.

For what its worth, that is a much better quote than I got from florist in my area.
