Hi bees! Its been a while since my last post. I need advice on my florist (I know nothing about flowers) and how much they are supposed to cost for a wedding. how much did you bees spend on your real flowers for your wedding? I’m have 7 bridesmaids and groomsmen so would need bouquets, corsages, etc., as well as flowers for the church and centerpieces. I really like roses and let me florist know at the appt. She then was talking about doing these huge elaborate displays at the church and using orchids everywhere. I had asked her to send me an updated estimate based on what we discussed, but I have yet to see it and am getting worried about the cost (I keep asking her to send it). I had told her I didn’t want to spend over $3000 (preferably under!), but am not sure if this is a realistic cost for a 200 person wedding in Massachusetts near the cape. What does everyone think?

I think it could be done if you have low centerpieces. I had mostly roses, but only 4 attendants on each side and spent around 3300 for mine.

My flowers cost about $800ish. That got me a bridal bouquet, toss bouquet, four bridesmaid bouquets, four groomsmen bouts, groom bout, FOB bout, and two for grandfathers…errrrr plus chest corsage for 4 ladies (my mom, his mom, my grandma, and his grandma). I had garden roses, dahlias, and various other stuff like dusty miller, etc lol. We placed mason jars around the room and put our bouquets in them afterwards. We had three bouquets on our sweetheart table (2 bridesmaid bouquets on either side of mine) and put the rest on cake table to decorate. We did candle centerpieces which saved money and I love candles so it was super fitting. I love flowers too but I have candles I can still use lol

I just got an “estimated quote” based on inspiration pictures I sent. I’m in St. Louis (so significantly cheaper than the East cost) and it was over $800 for a bridal bouquet, 3 Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets, 6 bouts, 2 corsages, tax, and delivery. That’s it. They priced my Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets at $100/each, which would put you at almost $1000 for personal flowers right there. I don’t know how many tables you’re having (I’m assuming 20?), but around here most low, small arrangments (I’m talking 6″ square vases, 1 per table) are around $100 a pop.

The first floral events vendor I met with gave me a budget of over $5,000. That was too high for me, so I met with another floral designer and tried to achieve my look for less, without having to compromise too much on what I wanted. The second vendor’s price was about $3,600, so I chose her.
