Would love some opinions! I am a colorful girl and am always drawn to bold floral prints with a tiny bit of a bohemian vibe to them. I saw this fabric and although it’s not remotely autumn-y I’ve never been one for tradition so I snatched it up. I’m going to make table runners with them. The tables will have navy tableclothes. I’m going to have vases with colorful flowers on some tables and the other tables will have these candleholder birdcages. What do you think? Doing white or orange votives in candleholder. Also, what would you put underneath or or in bottom of birdcage? Thanks!

think they are cute but the flowers don’t match the runner. I would stick with light and dark pink so that it’s funky but still elegant. You don’t want them to compete too much

@Caroheart Thank you! I randomly picked up flowers at the grocery store to see how it would look. I think sticking with two similiarly colors is probably a good idea. Light pink isn’t my bag but maybe fuscia and red or red and orange?

I would do very plain flowers with that table runner. Pick one color like white or blush. I love the table runner, but with the multi colored flowers it’s too much.

@michiru4ever Thank you! I see your point. Today I am wearing a striped purple shirt and leopard print sneakers so you see my problem 🙂

@jjfad778: I agree stick with one color only if you are using the runner. Maybe the light pink since there is less pink in the runner?

I think that’s a really fun runner, and at an outdoor summer wedding, even the flowers are fine, but for fall, you might want to tone down the flowers a bit, maybe by choosing I shades of one color, like a pp said..

You guys are right. I know it’s not autumn-y but I’m okay with bucking that trend. Just don’t want to make it look like a circus 🙂 I’m getting married in the lodge of a small ski resort so there is stone, high ceilings, and some brown/burgundy neutral tones. I think a pop of color will be nice but I don’t want people to need sunglasses either. Is something like this too much you think?

@jjfad778: I think that would look great with the runner, and that colored candles in the birdcases would be ok too (I’d probably go with yellow or fuschia/red).
I love color too!

I would put a small arrangement of flowers in the bottom of the birdcage.
I agree with the pp’s that the multicolor flowers are competing with your runner. I would use only one color of flowers in each arrangement. You could do different color flowers on some tables to sarisfy your obvious love of color.
If you want to tone it down a tad, you could do arrangements of green flowers only.

You guys are so incredibly helpful! I plan on ordering flowers so I think I may try to achieve something like in that red-flower photo with some greenery thrown in for a bit of a more rustic look.
