- Wedding: September 2018
Wanted to get your opinions on florals and such from those who have gone through their weddings. I had a meeting with the florist a few weeks ago, the initial questionnaire I noted I didn’t want to be going over $4500 for the whole thing. We discussed everything and I got a proposal back for almost $9000. I was shocked. We are already in a luxury resort venue and I want to know from you as brides and also as wedding guests what you paid attention to or what even mattered so I can trim this down a LOT.
The venue’s atmosphere speaks for itself but I did want some personal touches that made it unique. If anyone cares it will be at the Salamander Resort and Spa in VA (if you google it you can see the atmosphere). I wanted a nice canopy trellis for the ceremony with a chandelier and draping, and centerpieces would vary in height from table to table but now I am thinking I just cut back and make all the centerpieces except for the head table small. We also wanted to add some ribbons and crystals on the ballroom (reception) chandelier to bring focus to the actual dance floor. We have a September wedding and the main florals in place now are dahlias, garden roses, rununculus, and anemone. (I think? I am not a florist haha). I wanted the ceremony space to be very magical and really don’t want to give up the chandelier accent but if you guys have any experience which I am sure you do, please let me know the things people actually paid attention to vs. what can really be cut down.
Thanks so much in advance!
