Whereabouts do you live? Delray Beach.

Do you guys like it down there? LOVE IT. I never want to move. ever.

Does it have an art scene of any sort? Yes! It’s a very trendy and hip area, with a cool art district downtown!

What are your favorite things to do there? Every weekend there is some type of festival downtown. My favorite is the Garlic Festival. Always have art fairs and street markets. Just an all around amazing place to live. I love to go to the beach. Even in the ‘dead of winter’ πŸ™‚ I also love to just bike/cruise/walk around. The Bar Scene is great too. and tons of awesome places to eat. I never get bored.

Would I stick out like a sore thumb with all of my tattoos? (this doesn’t REALLY matter, just curious.) Not at all! you’ll fit right in πŸ™‚ It’s a pretty young area. Nothing stands out!

@imageeksowhat:  Yes it’s SouthEast! The beaches are just amazing. We actually just won some type of award too for being the number 1 fun small town to live in. something like that. haha.

I’ve lived in FL my whole life and i’ve never had any problems with bugs, snakes or gators coming close to my pups or hurting them! and i live on a canal!

@imageeksowhat:  Haha, yeah it’s pretty rare to have an alligator run in. unless you’re out in the everglades.

Im sad you have to move but ive lived a couple places in Fl. By far tampa/St pete is my favorite. Beach, downtowns, lots of museums, and only an hour and a half from Orlando if thats your thing. Good luck choosing!

Whereabouts do you live? Orlando, FL

Do you guys like it down there? love it!!!

Does it have an art scene of any sort? we live in a trendier area of town so yes (PM me if you want to know specific neghborhoods)

What are your favorite things to do there? when we aren’t working we take our dog out a lot because the local area is very dog friendly (parks, lakes, restaurants, etc…), we like to hang out in our favorite pubs/cafes, we go to the movies pretty regularly, we attend local sports games (baseball, hockey, basketball, etc…), lots of local concerts and festivals; oh and the beach during the summer (an hour away from Cocoa and New Smyrna)

Would I stick out like a sore thumb with all of my tattoos? (this doesn’t REALLY matter, just curious.) Nope.  FH just got one two weeks ago.  Tattoos are pretty common, especially in the artsier areas of town; plus we have UCF, Full Sail (awesome tech/computer design school) and Rollins so there are plenty of college students as well

I am a fifth generation Floridian.  We do exist!  Every time I consider moving out of the state I hesitate because I love the sunshine and lack of winter (we have had a dozen cold days this year and cold means 50 degrees.)  It does rain a lot here though especially during the summer months but you can’t beat 70 degree fall and winter days.  We went to the beach in January this year, in bathing suits!  Practically no SAD down here and we have a lot of transplants due to SAD.  I will say there are at least 2-3 months during the year (June, JUly and August) that you will not want to leave your house because it is ridiculously hot and humid.

Well I left so clearly I’m not the biggest fan but I grew up in Tampa. The weather is nice but as far as a downtown/hip area I think it’s lacking.

Gators really aren’t THAT bad, if your dogs are small I wouldn’t let them hang around retention ponds but the gators won’t like wander up to your house. Now lovebugs on the other hand are the bane of my existence.

@imageeksowhat:  As far as bugs go, you have to use good flea meds and make sure to keep up on heartworm meds because the mosquitos can get bad during certain times of the year.  Alligators really aren’t a problem in most areas but yes they do live in some lakes and retention ponds and the further South you go, the more likely you are to come into contact with them.  Where I live in Orlando there are tons of lakes but zero alligators because they relocated them to other less populated (i.e. rural) areas.  I know where to drive to so that I can show my friends and family that visit from out of state alligators but I don’t see them other than that.

Whereabouts do you live? My Darling Husband and I are from the Orlando area (Lake Mary/Heathrow area specifically) and we loved growing up there. Right now we are in Gainesville because we both attend the University of Florida. I highly recommend the Lake Mary area- it’s about 30-40 minutes from downtown Orlando/the attractions, and also about 30-40 minutes for New Smyrna Beach or Daytona Beach. πŸ™‚

Do you guys like it down there? Love it! πŸ™‚

Does it have an art scene of any sort? I’m not super artistic, so I wouldn’t know. I know that Darling Husband did propose to me at the Tampa Museum of Art- dunno if that helps. πŸ˜›

What are your favorite things to do there? I adore the beach. Adore it. We have drive-through beaches where you can park your car with all your stuff in it right on the beach, so you don’t have to cart all your crud around. Universal/Disney is also fun occasionally. Epcot has lots of nice seasonal stuff like the Flower and Garden Festival and their Food and Wine Festival. If you like to go out, the club scene downtown is pretty fun, too. AND we have lots of places to go shopping. πŸ˜‰

Would I stick out like a sore thumb with all of my tattoos? (this doesn’t REALLY matter, just curious.) LOL. I don’t think so? I see tattood people all the time.
