I live here, too! : ) So we didn’t stick around here.  Where did you book your honeymoon?  If we honeymooned in FL, i would have chosen Sanibel Island, or Key West!

I live in FL too! Don’t come to Panama City Beach! LOL it’s spring break central. Maybe Miami would be a nice place? Where exactly are you going?

I’m so glad that D.Marie posted this! My fiance was just layed off from his job last week…. 4 months from our wedding day – ugh 🙁   Now that we are down a paycheck I’m really looking at the Keys for our honeymoon. Any suggestions on some nice places to stay in the Keys??  Congrats D.Marie on booking your Florida honeymoon!!

We didn’t get to take a honeymoon after the wedding, so we are planning one in March or April – and considering Florida (among a bunch of other places). Will it be warm enough then? Where should we go? We’ve only ever been to Destin and the surrounding area, which we LOVE, but wouldn’t mind doing something a little different.

I’m a Florida Keys native, born and raised there for the first 20 of my 24 years of life.  Laughing  We have a family restaurant in Marathon.

We won’t be HMing there but if anyone needs any advice or pointers from a true Conch, I’m happy to help!

@laylabelle- you never know what the weather is like in fl. one day it’s freezing and the next day you’re sweating. i remember wearing a sweater last march, but like i said, you never know. i’m in clearwater, it’s nice. we have a beautiful beach, and it’s 1 1/2 from disney.

I would recommend St Augustine. It’s gorgeous and very historical. I think it’s romantic and we went on v-day to a bed and breakfast. Had a blast.

The keys are gorgeous too. I haven’t been. But, my fi had a tdy (temp. deployment) to the Keys for an air show and he loved it and now wants to plan a trip there..but it’s expensive for v-day :-(.

AND, I’m with artbee. It is so weird..usually it is warm in march/april. But, usually it is warm now too and it has been below 50 here and that is COLD in Florida. lol

We love Santa Rosa Island and the Pensacola area.  It’s gorgeous.  Very very white sand beaches and the water is crystal clear.  We stay at the Portofino Island resort and it’s very secluded bordered by bay on one side and the ocean on the other.  Next door neighbor is the state park with miles of pristine beaches.

Beautiful pools there, day spa, and love it!

I also love Key West and think Little Palm island is like a carribbean getaway too!  Little Palm is perfect for those who want to pretend they actually left the USA!
