We chose the FLorida Keys because of the laid back atmosphere and it’s one of our favorite places in FLorida. Venue is booked but the remaining vendors are sooooo slow to respond if they respond at all!!!! It’s like no one works down there, they must just all go fishing every day. So frustrating!! Just venting this evening to the only ladies who would really understand my frustrations 🙁

My first wedding was in the Keys years ago. I was living in Miami at the time and would drive to Islamorada every few weeks or so to meeting with people since they were terrible about getting back to my via phone and email wasn’t really as big of a thing as it is now.
I know your frustrations – I remember our steel drum player spoke to us like once and I wasn’t really sure the morning of the wedding if he’d be there 🙂
It all worked out in the end! Give them deadlines way ahead of what you really need and you should be fine.

@MelloKnot: Uh oh, the Keys Disease strikes again. Yeah, the best course of action I think is deadlines before you need them, so you have some wiggle room. Be firm, set boundaries, and don’t be afraid to approach higher-ups if you need to.
Good luck to you!

So, we are getting married in The Keys in 3 weeks. I have TOTALLY dealt with lazy vendors and ridiculous pricing quotes as well. If you have ANY feedback on ANY services then I will be more than happy to take it. I hope your wedding was AMAZING and all turned out great! 🙂 CONGRATS!!!
