Hey ladies –
I’m looking for a couple vendors in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
2) Cake person
I am not originally from DFW, so I only know 1 person who has gotten married here and I’m already using her Photographer and DJ. I’d like to not use the rest of her vendors, even though they all did a great job at her wedding. I just don’t feel comfortable with that.
So any suggestions/recommendations? There are so many in this area that it’s difficult to just go online and pick one. I have received a few preferred vendor lists from my venue and my caterer, but I’d like to hear from brides in the area and their personal experiences.

Hello fellow DFW/November 9th bride!
There are a lot of great options for both floral and cake in DFW, but it really depends on your style, budget and location of your wedding. Many vendors in the area will travel all over the metroplex, but some won’t. With that being said, we are using Fancy Cakes by Lauren for our cake, and We + You for floral. We also looked at Creme de la Creme for cake as well, and I would also recommend them!

We used the Lily Pad Flower Shop based out of McKinney, absolutely loved her. I went in with no vision other than “I want all white flowers and no roses” and she came up with awesomness.
We did cupcakes and used The Cupcakery in uptown Dallas, but we went on a few cake tastings – Fancy Cakes by Lauren and Delicious Cakes in Addison – both were great, but since we ultimately wanted cupcakes, we wanted something more than the flavors they offered. :p Lovely true wedding cakes though!

We’ll probably be using Blue Bonnet Bakery in Fort Worth. There’s also Casa Linda Bakery near White Rock Lake. Both are family-owned/run business since the 1930s or so, and neither seem tied to the wedding industrial complex, so I think their prices are better and the quality of the decorations is really high. The cake is really tasty too (I had a full tasting at Blue Bonnet and it’s not sickly sweet like a lot of bakeries).
