(Closed) Florist can't get the only flower that I want

I had a similar problem last summer. I got married at the very end of July, but our florist was honest and told us she didn’t think she could get peonies. Our plan was to get David Austen roses (as others mentioned) as a substitution. To my surprise, she was actually able to get peonies at the last minute. So there might be hope. I know others mentioned sites to get some through, and wholesale is also a good option. Another thing that was mentioned to me is that some florists will use 3-4 carnations and tie them at the base with wire to make them look like one flower, similar to a peony, or ranunculus. I’m not sure what the price difference is between peonies and some of the alternatives but perhaps you could ask for more of the substitute flower if they’ll work out to be a cheaper price per unit than peonies so you can still get your moneys worth, with the added benefit of more fullness.

I’m surprised to see here that they’re so hard to get in August? Googling says they’re only in season April-June? My florist gave me peonies in November. Actually, I was supposed to have dahlias (I didn’t really request any flowers. I love peonies, but the budget was more important to me when it came to flowers), and she let me know 2 days before that the dahlias that came in were super ugly so she was substituting with burgundy peonies instead – no upcharge. And that was in November.
