That sounds ridiculous! I’m curious as to what her reviews are because she sounds like a nut.

Uh that’s crazy! Accounting for guests make sense for how many centerpieces and whatnot. But my guest list was in your range and I paid under $2K for some very beautiful florals (my budget was $1500, but I went over for something for our car).

That’s insane. My florist is charging by piece, and I’m legitimately only spending about $350 on flowers, so I can’t even wrap my brain around $15k. My entire wedding AND honeymoon will be about $15k! Girl, find yourself a different florist.

That’s insane costs!

My florist is charging per item – so bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets, buttonholes plus a bit of gyp for the centrepieces and cake. It’s about £300 in total, so about $400. Never heard of a florist charging per head, unless supplying all decor including chair covers etc.

One friend was quoted £2k ($2.8k) for flowers – but that included all the flowers in the Church (we were canny and are marrying in a Catholic church at Lent, so flowers frowned upon), flowers to decorate the reception venue, all floral centrepieces, garlands, bouquets, button holes etc.

Find another florist, and if that’s common in your area look at non-floral centrepieces and save yourself the best part of $15k!!

i would not pay 15k on florals, unless you’re Kim K type rich & extravagant.  I paid $2k for all my florals (in Seattle, and I had a decent amount) and the highest quote I saw was $5k.  I did only have 40 guests but if we’d had more the only thing we’d have needed more of was the garlands running down the center of the tables, so maybe $3k if we’d had 100 ppl?

yes I agree with the others definitely shop around…look at everything look book quotes on flowers and it is possible the flowers you chose are special imports…say you wanted orchids…they are pricy, where as roses are not..I get get as many quotes as possible also check to see what other ppls experiences have been

Maybe the 125 a head means like the bridal party of something.

My florist charged per item based off of the flowers I chose. That sounds crazy.

wanderingnomad :  i’ve never heard of charging per person for flowers and i’m pretty sure that’s not the standard. why would they charge per person? it’s not like food where each person needs a plate of food? I wouldn’t give this person your business, sounds like they are trying to scam you for money
