So I need your ladies help…I have talked to 2 florist so far and have gotten 2 veryyyyy different quotes. The first florist quoted us at $3,000 and the seconded quoted us at $1,647. Why do you think there is there such a price difference? This is what we would be getting with each package:
BRIDE BOUQUET : Pale pink and white roses with baby’s breath, wrapped with a pale pink ribbon.
BRIDESMAID BOUQUETS (5) : Baby’s breath hand tied with a pale pink ribbon.
GROOM : Pale pink rose and baby’s breath bout.
GROOMSMEN (5) : Baby’s breath bout. wrapped with pale pink ribbon.
CENTERPIECES (5) : 24″ cylinder vase with large sphere of baby’s breath on top.
CENTERPIECES (5) : 10″ glass bowls with pink and white roses and baby’s breath.
And here are examples of each:

@DGB38: Have you reviewed the portfolios of both? Have you asked for a rose count? I wanted a pomander-type all-rose bouqet like that but WOWZA it was expensive, so I filled it in with some hydrangeas! But the baby’s breath should be relatively cheap. Did you compare prices of just vase rental prices as well?
P.S. Love the bouts!

My grandmother and mother are florists and I forwarded this along to them to see their take…they sent back this breakdown of what they would charge. Prices do range around the US , but they and I all think 3,000 is ridiculous for what you’re asking for. I would go with the second florist for sure!
Sorry it’s sideways, I’m not sure how to resize!

3000.00 is ridic for what you want. From your pics it looks like you are mainly asking for baby’s breath, typically a “filler flower” in the floral world along with some roses. I would see if you could look at some of the less expensive florists work, and go with her if you are satisfied.

@DGB38: I think that both of those quotes are REALLY high for mostly baby’s breath. The florist is shaping baby’s breath into a ball, which doesn’t really require that much time or artistic talent. I would look into DIY (maybe not for the bridal bouquet), or just go with whoever is cheapest.

@DGB38: It could be a lot of things–like shop popularity or reputation. We got our corsages/buttonieres for $12/$7, but the shop two miles closer to town was charging $15/$10 for the same exact thing!

Baby’s breath is a filler flower, but the large centerpieces would take about 5 bunches of them each so that’s where it adds up fast.

Thank you everyone! I agree that the $3,000 quote is ridiculous for what I want, I’m glad that I’m not the only one that thinks that! I e-mailed a few other florist so hopefully they will come back with some better quotes 🙂
