I just got an email from the florist saying they aren’t going to do our flowers because each piece isn’t at least $150. What??
We’re getting married on October 8. Which is 13 days away. In Maui. And we live in Alaska.. this is going to be a pain!

@Treejewel19: No contract, but we paid entirely up front. Apparently the estimated cost was less than the actual cost.

Breathe! Yes, check your contract and see what it says as far as their rights to cancel. Are you having the wedding at a hotel/catering place/restaurant? Call whoever you’ve been working with in HI and tell them the situation, see if they can help you find a new florist.

Oh Gees. Totally uncool. Which company is this? Hopefully, not Kahului Florist… here is their link. They’ve been around a long time and may be willing to work with your price range.

Wow, that’s so crazy. I’m sorry you’re going through this. I’m actually shocked that they aren’t excited to make money and would refuse an order because it’s not a certain amount. I mean I could understand if they had brought this to your attention or what not, but .. I’m speechless..
I hope you’re able to get this straigthened out with them or someone else is able to help you in a hurry. Please keep us updated.

Who is the florist? $150 a piece? I hope they put gold on their arrangements!
There are many a florists on Maui that would probably be more than willing to work with your budget.

@alaska_99705: When you paid them up front, how did they acknowledge receipt of payment? Because, in my mind, that would be proof of intent to provide a service, which is basically a contract.

@anothersmith: legally, it is a contract once they accept the money and deposit it into their account.
