I really loved my florist and thought he did an outstanding job. I’d like to give him a tip, but I’m not sure how much is appropriate. Any thoughts?
He doesn’t own the floral shop – he’s an employee of a large florist shop – and he specifically handles the special events, etc

Etiquettely speaking, you are not required to tip your florist. If you would like to, I have heard (etiquettely speaking again) that you could do $5 for each delivery location (example, ceremony & reception). Doesn’t sound like much, but that’s all I’ve really heard of. Being that a tip is not required, I think he would appreciate anything.

I would say a gift card is probably the best way to go. It might be against company policy for him to accept cash tips, and you don’t want to get him in trouble.

If this matters – he wasn’t he one simply delivering it – but the one designing and making sure the whole things came off well. He also showed up on the day of to ensure placement, put the finishing touch on ceremony flowers, etc.

I’m not sure if a tip is appropriate here. Since he works for a larger company, maybe you could express your sentiments in a review to the owner. I agree that a small gift card with a thank you note to the florist might be nice.
