I think you need to step back a little bit from wedding planning, especially flowers! Everyone runs into these blocks during the planning process. Take a deep breath. Relax. Come back to it later.

I understand your frustration! That’s why I decided on pinwheels. Yes, that may be silly. BUT…it should be fun and whimsical. Also, I can prepare them now and not have to stress about it. With that said, I agree with T12ubeauty…back away. You sound like you’re overwhelmed at the moment…which makes sense becasue that is why people post on here. To gain perspective and get advice.

I have seen the small and medium lanterns with an orchid inside. I think that is a cute idea. It would also be something your girls could take as a keepsake. I like the parasol idea…I think that is awesome. You could carry one too. Your girls could carry one the color of their dress and you could carry white or ivory.

Hope this helps!

Best of luck!!!

Why dont you just skip the flowers and do a broach boquet. Those are neat and glamour/antique/elegant.

There are so many ideas on the web, keep lookig through blogs and you may find something both of you love. Do a search for “alternative bouquet” on google and etsy, you might find something!

How about clutch purses?

As for what you’ll carry…do you need anything at all? I’m not carrying a bouquet. I want the focus of my pictures to be people, not flowers. The only reason I could think of to have a bouquet is to hold while walking down the aisle, but I’m not going to spend any time or money on worrying about a 30 second walk. When you get up to the front, you hand it off to someone else anyhow.

Hmm.. what about clutches or fans?  I might be a tad concerned that it gets a little kitschy in a Japanese garden, but i really like the look of fans in general, and if you kept them glam rather than obviously Japanese it could work!

@MissFireFlower:  Actually… I love the lantern idea, or the parasol idea. Both are great. You can carry a parasol too, just make it a more fun, ornate one! Fans are also a fun one. I’m back and forth between fans and parasols, myself, I don’t want flowers either.

Have you thought about a brooch bouquet, if you want a slightly more traditional look without actual flowers? Makes a good keepsake too.
