I have a chapel length veil for the ceremony and a big white flower to wear on the side of my head. I can see combining them if my hair was back, but my hair will be down. I was almost thinking of the veil during the ceremony and the flower after.
Has anyone done both? How does it look? Show me yours!!!

Great question I am wanting to do the same hairstyle for my wedding. Someone post some pics please! 🙂

I agree with your idea of wearing the flower for the reception, it will almost be like a 2nd look for you.

Thanks! I got my trial done last night and we decided that they did look a little funny together because my flower is so large. FUN!!! So, we decided to wear my chapel length veil more on the top of my head (so it doesn’t look funny just hanging out on the crown of my head and hair hanging down) and the flower once I come back into the reception. Maybe halfway through the pics I will switch. 🙂

Here’s my tulle blusher veil from David’s Bridal. The flower detaches and can be worn separately. I love it and can’t wait to wear it! 🙂 I hope this helps.
For your chapel length veil, you can always have the flower at the comb of your veil, whether your hair is down, half-up, or in a bun, I think it will be lovely. You mentioned your hair will be down, so I’d probably just pin the flower at the top of the veil where the comb. I don’t think you can go wrong with that 😉 You can also have the flower pinned to the side of your head (gather some hair with it, too).
Hope I was of help, fellow Bee.
Opps, I just noticed you already figured it out! Sounds beautiful!!

I did both! I will try to find a picture of it… I only have a few pro pics and I am not 100% sure any of them show it.

Thanks for the suggestions! Nothing is set in stone, yet, so I will try that out! I totally dig your headpiece, though!
That would be great if you find one!

i wore both! i had an elbow length veil and i knew i was wearing my hair up no matter what. i found what worked was wearing the veil below my hairdo and the flower higher up on the side. here is a pic that shows both

What a classic look! I don’t look so good with up dos, but that is really pretty!

I wore my flower under the veil and removed the veil for the reception. I couldn’t find a good picture of the placement. The flower was on the side, towards the back of my head, and the veil was in the center, towards the back of the top of my head.
Here’s a photo I had saved for inspiration:
