Just got our initial quote on our flowers and was SOOOO excited! It was just under budget! Then…I noticed it was only the ceremony flowers. Any tips on cutting back? I’m not one to use silk flowers as I don’t want to have them after!

What are you looking for for your flowers (as in kinds of flowers, number of centerpieces, ceremony flowers, etc)? What was the quote you got and for what? We opted to cut out shepard hooks with flowers for the aisle and opted for lining the aisle with flower petals instead, we’re saving $300 that way. Our florist worked with us to get the price for the two alter arrangements down, she is going to use more greenery to fill them so that dropped the price of those $50 or so. For our centerpieces, we’re having candelabras with flowers attached. She’s doing a floral cluster that will attach to one side of the centerpiece and alternate the directions they’re facing so there will be flowers on all sides, instead of doing a full floral wreath on each centerpiece, that saved us $250.

We’re having a large wedding party so that’s what I think the problem is. 8 Maids and 5 groomsmen plus family. The maids are having mainly hydrangeas and the men, simple lily bouts. We can’t line the aisle with flowers, but our church is so beautiful, I’m starting to think no one would miss pew markers. For the reception, I would rather use more candles and then simple hydrangea “poofs”. Something similar to this:
