I would really love if my fellow Ontario bees, or any North American bees would share their flower budgets. I was discussing wedding details with my Mum tonight, and she thought my quote on flowers was outrageous.
I’ve chosen Anemones (which aren’t the cheapest flowers) mixed with white and grey hypericum berries, and minimal green filler.
For my bouquet, Maid/Matron of Honor bouquet, 4 bouts, 3 corsages and flowers for the cake is going to cost us $500 taxes in. Does this sound reasonable?

It is a little pricey but I am a DIY bride, I am spending 200.00 on my flowers that includes 14 centerpeices 3 bouquets and 5 bouts.

Hi there, I live in Florida and just got my flower quote, and it was higher than I expected also. Here is what I received so you can compare:

4 BRIDESMAIDS (EGGPLANT-PLUM DRESSES)—ROUND HAND-TIED CLUSTER OF OPENING LAVENDER ROSES, PURPLE ASTERS, PURPLE LISIANTHUS, PURPLE MONTE AND GREENERY
GROOM—WHITE ROSE WITH DARK GREENERY
4 GROOMSMEN—WHITE ROSE AND DARK GREENERY
RINGBEARER—SMALL WHITE ROSE
1 READER—2 WHITE ROSES IN A PIN-ON CORSAGE
2 GIRLS—SINGLE WHITE ROSE IN A PIN-ON CORSAGE
SIGN-IN TABLE—LOW, CENTERPIECE STYLE—IN DARK PURPLES, LAVENDERS AND TOUCHES OF WHITE—SAME FLOWERS
CAKE—TOPPER (MADE IN A HOLDER) –USING DARK PURPLE DENDROBIUM ORCHIDS, WHITE MONTECASINO AND GREENERY—(NOT TOO LARGE)
2 ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE TOP SIDES OF THEIR ARCH – IN PURPLES AND LAVENDERS
WEDDING DELIVERY AND SETUP
Thoughts? Does this seem reasonable or on the higher end? Appreciate any input…thanks!

See, this is why I’m DIYing. I will have my bridal bouquet, 3 bridesmaids, not sure about the toss, 4 bouts, enough for 24 buds to put in vases for the centerpieces, and a few handfuls of petals to also scatter on the center of each table. I’ve priced it out and that’s around $200 if I order in bulk. Oh, I forgot to add some for the cake, make it $215.

Here are some price ranges from the quotes I’ve gotten.
Bridal bouquet 175 USD – 225 USD
Bridesmaid’s bouquet 75 USD – 100 USD
Boutonniere 15 USD – 20 USD
Corsage 20 USD – 25 USD

Thanks for the input ladies!! I initially wanted to DIY my flowers. I am not that hands on unfortunately, and know I would just make a big mess and wouldn’t get the overall look I’m going for. I guess I’m really paying for the look, since I don’t have the eye or patience for it.

- Wedding: March 2012 - Pelican Grand Beach Resort
My flowers came to just over $2000 for 1 bridal bouquet, 2 bridesmaids bouquets, 5 corsages, 3 groom/groomsmen bouts, 7 father (et al.) bouts, 6 pomanders, and 6 tablescapes of small arrangements in varied vases. We used only seasonal flowers. This included delivery and setup.

It sounds about right especially for bigger areas in Ontario. We did ours DIY since my cousin worked in a floral shop when she finished highschool. Our total for flowers including my bouquet and the three of my girls and a toss was 155$ but I wish I had gotten more and spent closer to 200$.

@Future_Ms.Bostonceltics: i paid the same amount but had 1 additional bout and 1 additional corsage PLUS 6 gorgeous centrepieces and a tall orchid for the guest book table. note: all of the bouts and corsages were orchids.

@Future_Ms.Bostonceltics: I live in Toronto Ontario and my cost for flowers is $600. I’m getting fake flowers though for a destination wedding in Cuba. I’m getting bridal bouquet, toss bouquet, 6 bridesmaid bouquets, 1 groom bout, 6 groomsmen bouts, 1 ringbearer bout, and a flower girl pomander (sp?) and extra flowers for the cake. I thought my price was reasonable.

We eloped, and the flowers for our wedding were included in our elopement package. For our reception, I actually told our florist what our budget was for flowers. Our budget was $700, and it included 11 center pieces, 5 bouts, and 4 corsages. I didn’t think I needed a bouquet, because our reception was eight months after our wedding.

I am doing it on the cheap and fortunately we’re getting married in a really low season for the city. There is a wonderful florist next door and she’s doing big centerpieces for $40 apiece (we’re renting the vases from her). She quoted $40 for bridal bouquet, $35 for a bridesmaid bouquet, $8 each for boutonnieres, and $20 each for corsages, and then to rent 2 topiaries decorated with flowers would be $50. All told, for the number of items we need, it would be roughly $500. Eek.
I think I might just order the centerpieces and bouquets from her, and make the boutonnieres and corsages. I’ve read several online tutorials and they look so easy to make!

Anemones shouldn’t be that expensive if you’re DIY. I think I was quoted $10 for a 6 bloom bunch. The berries are like $6 a bunch.

Oh and if you look for my post about flowers, my total was $300 but it’s all DIY. I too told my floral girl what i was willing to pay and she made it work. If yours are being made for you I think it’s a decent price.
I did almost puke that gardenias were $13 per bloom and I had to order at least three.
