With four months to go until my wedding…I am having a color dilemma! Our wedding is black and white damask, with some silver and pearl accents. We’re using feathers and candles as our centrepiece basis. Really the only color that would come into play would be in my flowers and FI’s boutonierre. To get an idea of the vibe of my wedding, I will post some pics:
These are the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses. The girls will have white flowers no matter what, and our groomsman have black suits and will have a white rose boutonniere:
As I said, the only place we’ll really be having colors if we decide to do so is in my bouquet and FH’s boutonnierre.
I can’t decide whether to do a red rose bouquet for me and a red rose boutonnierre for Fiance, or a feather bouquet for myself and white boutonnierre for him. If we were to go with the second option we would have to differentiate Fiance from the groomsmen with a neutral tie, probably silver to go with our accents.
What do you think would look better with my theme?

Go with color! The red would be gorgeous.

Can you tell me how you made the candle with the feather around it? Did you use a feather boa? Thanks.

the feathers are fun and obviously fit perfectly into your theme but honestly i like the red! it helps give things pop of color and it helps you stand out a bit more.. very nice photos! also i LOVE the bridesmaid dresses

That’s actually an inspiration picture I used but the ones I am having are very similar, I just used a tall cylindrical vase as opposed to a hurricane lamp. I’ve experimented with a few different ways of achieving the look, and the best thing to do is get a feather boa and wrap it around a styrofoam circle and secure either with hot glue or smalls pins. Either that, or hot glue it to a circular plate and rest the vase on that 🙂
Everyone else – thanks for the input!! I think I will be going with the red rose bouquet and incorporating the feathers elsewhere – in my headpiece!

Thanks for posting those! I don’t know why I never considered putting feathers in with the roses! Fab idea, going to look into that with my florist!

I’m not fond of roses and I think the feathers are unique.

I LOVE the roses, and I’m usually not a rose gal. I really, really like that everything is black/white/silver except for your flowers. You need that pop. If you really want to use a feather one too – have it as your toss bouquet.
