Hi everyone! I said yes to the dress about a month ago – ended up going with Hayley Paige Esther, which was TOTALLY diferrent from my previous faves (like Love Marley Penelope). Now I’m thinking about accessories. I had been thinking about a flower crown, on the delicate side, when I had been looking at the more boho dresses. Do you guys think that a flower crown would look good with this? Our wedding is across the street from the beach in an open-air rotunda. I’m also thinking about a jewled bolero. Thoughts? Thanks! 🙂

Nope – I don’t think a flower crown ever works with a ball gown. Too mixed up for me. But that’s just my opinion!

Beautiful dress, btw! I just think it calls for more elegant/traditional/under-stated accessories. But most will say you should wear what you love and that’s true, too! 🙂

Not sure if the flower crown would match, Flower crows go with more of an earthy and boho dress, not so much a ball gown.

I actually think the flower crown would be nice with this dress! But it would have to be a very dainty flower crown, nothing too big or chunky! But that’s just my opinion, wear whatever makes you feel beautiful!

lilstar88: go for it!! i just went to an outdoor wedding where the bride wore a ball gown and flower crown combo and she looked SO beautiful!
I think the key was that she used all white flowers so it kept it more understated/classic instead of colorful flowers, which to me are more boho. since your ceremony is outside, i think it would definitely work.
if you go with the flower crown, though, i would skip the jeweled bolero; those are two diff styles and would just clash imho.

I think this ball gown in particular is floaty enough, rather than super princessy / blingy / etc, that a delicate flower crown would look beautiful. Love the dress!!! Wear what you want!

Yes. flower crowns look great with ballgowns and as this one has a light ethereal feel it will be just perfect.

I actually think the flower crown would work for this dress since it doesn’t look like a typical ballgown and looks very airy and light 🙂
Please post pictures afterwards I think it would make for a beautiful bridal look 🙂

She looked great with a ballgown and flower crown, and it was certainly not dainty either.
Wear what you LIKE.

I wore a flower crown in a Hayley Paige full skirt blingy dress WITH a veil, and it was awesome. Our venue was a garden though so it fit in that way.

Hayley Page gowns tend to be less traditional, more fun and a little bohemian and totally go with floral crowns. I do think traditional ballgown sometimes look a little funny but this particular dress would look beautiful with one.

I think your dress would match a sparkly headband more than a flower wreath personally.

Eh, if it were me I’d do something closer to a hair vine than an actual flower crown for a dress like that, something like this https://www.etsy.com/listing/229957745/sale-silver-leaf-headband-bridal

I agree with the pp’s who say that this dress is floaty and light enough for a flower crown (I love them myself) . I’d go with a mainly white one . But also do give give thought to minniegraces idea above.
Just noticed your jewelled bolero idea. Hmm, don’t think that would go so well with the flower crown/vine .
