My wedding is also in October and I’m doing a fall theme. I like the idea of her carrying a pumpkin. My flower girl is throwing silk leaves, to stay with then fall theme!

depending on how old they are you could have your flower girls do something like this… on the pews hang the bows and inside the knot for the bows put a test tube with water… give your flower girl so many flowers and have her put the full flower in the test tube… just make sure that the test tube is long enough or the flower is short enough to accommodate… and wide enough that the flower girl isn’t struggling with the test tube… then if you want you can take the pew sashes to the reception and use them for the wedding party chair sashes.  to add a little color to this you can dye the water with ordinary food coloring…

I went to a wedding where the flower girls walked down the aisle and gave individual stems to the people seated at the aisle end of the pews (these seats were reserved specifically for elders). It was very sweet.

I also saw that awesome video online (can’t remember where–sorry!) of the flowergirl dancing her way down the aisle to Jackson5–no flowers needed (although the right temperment a plus)
